- This mod adds to the game the possibility to calculate the speed of a ship counting the revolutions per minute of the propeller. (using the hydrophone).
- Mod adds 2 charts (merchants & warships) for determining the speed of a vessel relative to its revolutions per minute. (ready to use with "usercharts" by TDW)
- RPM have been modified. Now some merchants and warships reach 99 and 129 RPM respectively. (Heard by hydrophone).

INSTALLATION

- Install after NewUisTDC_7_x_x and Open Horizons 2.2
- Before install v2.2.1, uninstall previous version.
- Enable in bunker or New Campaign.
- You can enable it on patrol, only if you save the game when there is no contact of vessels by the hydrophone. ~ 30km.
* Incompatible: "mod Ship_inertia"
* Compatible with Real_navigation. No relation.
* I did not find incompatibility with other MODS. for now ..
* This mod works with CSP Magui Interface for SH5.
* recommended: SH5 - No Chornometer Ticking Sound: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1707
* RPM Hydrophone mod can not be overwritten by any other mod if this overwrites files *.sim *.dsd *.cfg within data \ sea \ (ship name) \ ... Then the table of the "rpm" will be unusable and the calculations will be incorrect. Except that it is compatible.
* Mods compatible that can overwrite my mod: Fifi_NoReflections_compatible_RPM_Hydrophone_2.2.1 <-http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=204375
* RPM Hydrophone mod & Fifi_noreflections_compatible_RPM.. must be the same installed versions.

CHANGES

v2.2.1
- \data\Sea\: I've modified all files included in this folder into the mod to make the RPM charts.
- \data\sound\: "propeller_5_hyd" "propeller_4_hyd". I modified these files to increase the RPM of many ships. (heard by the hydrophone).
- sh.sdl: Added 2 entries. 653 and 654.
- I repaired the sound of some coastal vessels. (heard by hydrophone).
- TDW torpedo Patrol boat: Modified NPT.cfg. It has lowered the max-speed of 43 to 30 knots to repair the sound of the hydrophone. The ship now has sound heard by hydrophone. NPT.sim modified.
- Armed Trawler: New max speed=10knots. I've added entries "Label @ Nrtw" and "Shipsound @ Nrtw" within the file Nrtw.dsd to repair the propeller sound heard by the hydrophone. Now the ship has sound. Modified .sim .cfg and .dsd files.
- NSC_SC497 ship: armed trawler clon. modified .cfg file. 10 knots.
- New chart for merchant. V.2.2.1. I have split the chart into 2 parts. Table 1 from 40 to 69 rpm. Table 2 from 70 to 99 rpm. Ready to use with userchartsTDW.
- Merchant charts available in English or French languages. (english default)

NEW (july/6/2013): Main Mod modified. new version v2.2. Added RPM Warships chart ...\data\Usercharts\RPM_Warships_English_v2.2.dds
NEW (july/6/2013): Renamed old RPMdarktables. Now: RPM_Merchants_xxxxxx_v2.2.dds
- The mod replaces the sound file "Propeller_hyd_5.wav" by another modified version of this file, does work giving the warships up to 129 rpm. (by hydrophone).
* over 130 rpm makes the sound becomes a loop and come down to 53 rpm so that the stopper is fixed by me to 129.

Adding most common built warships is great addition.

You can precise in your thread this mod works with CSP Magui interface too :up:
I'm using it without trouble.
Using No ticking sound for chrono mod, is VERY usefull too! (you could add the download link)

I'm hoping DrJones will add the chart for warships together with the merchant chart in his UI :06:
I've added merchant chart instead of sinus/cosinus one wich i never use, but warship chart size is too long to fit in any Magui chart, and i'm unable to resize it on screen using his pages tool...

PS: no really need of french RPM warship chart IMO...destroyers names are same anyway.

I have OHII 2.2full, NewUisTDC 7.5.0 installed.

My? my current file contains 652 entries.. and it contains all the sound entries of all the mods which were made so far.. except your last entries :).. how many entries in the file of mod which present in the d/l section I don't remember..

This is a must have mod for total immersion!

EDIT: very few of the sounds have decreased with your mod...not very important, but i thought i should mention this.
The one i noticed are the flooding tubes when clicking top switches, the voices when switching impact/magnetic, and when launching torpedos.
I can still hear them, but they decreased approximatly by half.
Note that i'm using Stormys DBSM, but all was fine before activating your latest version.

the key is "sh.sdl",

The mod replaces the "sh.sdl" with one that has all the sounds of all the mods, and I've added 2 new entries "653-654".

I will check the volume of the files you mention. (within sh.sdl) And I'm going to compare to the "Original sh.sdl"

Fifi, is volume. If you can use the SDLEditor, you can change the volume of each sound in the game.

I think they have changed the volume to give more realism. Distance between compartments. I think...:hmmm:

Ok, i'll try with SDLeditor.
On other hand, you are right...for realism. I doubt now that captain could hear the flooding tubes from any scope station :hmmm:

Imagine it is a storm up there and it is midnight with no moon.
And you play with realistic night setting and .. well you can't see ****.

But you hear the boat, you can't ping it to get range if you do he notices you and kills you if it is a warship or just escape.

You need to plot it's course without looking.

You can keep track of the bearing, you do it for a few minutes , and with this mod you know the speed too. Now you check the distances for that speed and you know bearing, time , speed you can plot course, and you can shoot at him without ever rising your periscope.

It is really fun but damn hard to kill something like this.

And btw is it possible to make this Mod somehow compatible with the RPM inertia ?
I really could use the sonar speed estimations, but without the RPM inertia every ship move so unrealistically I just can play.:hmm2:

I cannot understand how everyone could live without such a feature.
Dont you know if is it able to edit somehow sinking (or damaged) ship sounds in hydrophone?
I miss some inhibited human screaming in that crashing metal sheets sounds :rock:

That would be almost perfect. Check some submarines veterans confessions in documentaries :salute:

BTW. i was playing SH4 trigger maru until a week ago.
SH5 + wolves of steel and some hydrophone mods including this turn it to sub heaven!!!

I agree, but beware of compatibility issues. This mod might require a few tweaks before full compatibility with The Wolves of Steel. :yep:

Uninstalled the mod and it showed up again D: I use the new TWOS, installed with the .exe. Sorry to bother, but i really want to play with it. What should i do?


EDIT: Got it working, took the content inside the UserChart_Speed_conversions.TDW, copied inside other one

Just be aware that RPM Hydro mod will give you CTDs...:03: It is not compatible with TWoS. Cheers!

I haven't experienced any CTD by now.
Only in four bearings mission, that isn't working properly.

It would be a plus for immersion, and would give us an extra tool to determine the speed of a ship without having to expose our periscope.

I don't think it is but I agree, it is worth being made compatible with TWoS :yep:
