That is honestly all.
Every submarine playable in SH5 can be found on this Wiki Page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Type_VII_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Type_VII_submarine)
From what we can gather, building a fully functional submarine for SH5 would be a monumental task, that is why people are reluctant to try, I understand them fully, it would take a very long time to produce such a thing.

That is a valid point. What are the alternatives? Will ubi release a future Silent Hunter? Or is SH4 Monsoon mod the best so far?

I'm pretty sure Ubisoft has abandoned SH5, and their current one, SH online is not like SH5 at all, and is a browser based game.

Not entirely true. It's not a monumental task, just one that has a little difficulty involved. It's very do-able, just takes time and know-how :yep: The question is will the game recognize it? I mean as in will the game add it to the list of subs available when you go to select a submarine (in single missions). How will the game make the new unit available in career? These are the questions we should be asking before we even attempt to add new playable units to the game :yep: We need to peer inside the game code and see how it's working in regards to these.

I'm going to agree with TDW here.
Doing the 3d work and related work to get a playable Sub built is pretty much been done before and can be done again.
TDW has given the basic tools to everyone for free. Not perfect but not for lack of putting his time into it! He's done an OUTSTANDING job!!
Will it work in SH5? That's the question. Until a Unit is cloned or created from scratch? We'll never know.
One trick from the SH3 days? Use JSGME to swap files. It may be listed as a type VII in Game Menu, but is a type VII/41 in visual Game. Or some crap like that.
:D
I'm no longer messing with Game files so it's just my thoughts and take those for what you think they are worth.

How did you rate up there with me?

Somebody has already imported a SH3 IXB model as an AI unit into SH5. It had a VII type conning tower but other than that it looked pretty good. I'd say the best thing to do as of now is to put the standard VII interior into an imported IX hull. This would only be a temporary measure until someone gets the time to produce a genuine IX interiour.

The Type XIV was imported as an AI Unit WAY BACK.
Change the outter Hulls stuff on the playables and go from there.
