Edit: This is too advanced for me if it's even possible to mod. So if there is somebody else that wants to have a go with this, feel free to do so.
Which file do I have to edit to adjust the number of bombs a plane drops during an attack run if it's at all possible? A stick of four would be a lot more effective.
Last patrol I had a wellington attacking me late 1940 (GWX), but it dropped only one bomb during the initial attack run. Chances of being hit by that are very small it missed me by a hunderd meters.
I did use the search function but couldn't find the answer. I hope one of you knows.

Hard coded I believe.

if it isn't hardcoded (which it probably is as the dropping would be a script) look in the EQP file.

Vince, have a look at this thread:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=133227&highlight=increased+asw
thers is some interesting work done on the loadouts and effectiveness of ASW:salute:
either you can use the mod itself or it may point you in the right direction is you choose to mod yourself

What is the best way to open the .eqp file?
Enough bombs at least, so that's not the problem. From the .cfg file:
[Loadout 1]
Name=8xDepth Charge
Type=5
[Loadout 2]
Name=8x250Kg Bombs
Type=2
[Loadout 3]
Name=4x500Kg Bombs
Type=3
I had the revised version of the 'increased ASW' mod already favorited. I'm not using it and I don't know exactly which files are modified, yet. But as far as I know it doesn't adress the number of bombs that are dropped during an attack by aircraft.

I did a couple articles about it and in general as long as the explosive material is 100kg more, there are 2 factors that are most important:
-Aircraft should stay unseen as long as possible. But that is not what my question is about.
-The number of bombs dropped.
Aircraft usually have only one chance to put a submarine out of action, 15secs after it submerged it becomes uncertain that an attack would have any effect. So dropping a lot of bombs during the first attack makes a lot of sense because it increases the lethal area a lot.
I hope it's not hardcoded, because it would improve realism a lot if we would be able to edit this.

The links in that thread are no longer active. As usual, Maik has it stored if you want to take a look-see. (ftp://hartmuthaas.no-ip.org/public/Sharing/SH3COMMUNITYMODS/ALBRECHT%20VON%20HESSE/)

It's not just in the .eqp. You need to ensure that there are bomb nodes available if you are looking to add a greater number of ordnance than is stock. That can be edited by editing the model with S3D.
You will see the nodes located in bomb bay doors or under wings where the ordnance is to be located on the model. I hope this isn't confusing.

yeah forgot about that because if you don't you might get all kinds of weird yet funny results. i had one were the planes were dropping thier bombs and it acted like a super cluster bomb where not 4 bombs droped and spread it was about 20.

Thanks for your replies. :sunny:
But I got to say that I was kind of hoping for a simple edit. This is too advanced for me if it's even possible to mod. So if there is somebody else that wants to have a go with this, feel free to do so.

No I don't want to change the ordnance, a total of 8 bombs is just fine (GWX). I just want to make the Wellington attack my boat more effectively, by letting it drop more than one bomb during a single run.
I'm familiar with S3D and somewhat familiar with nodes.
