I have noticed when looking through the ship data, most ships have a C and D node that never have anything attached to them.

Any insights?

I am also having trouble with Ship Radars.

I cannot get the ships to use them through fog.

And they also do not seem to use them to track enemies.

If you are testing ship equipments in historical mission, try setting both Main and Secondary equipment to 'late', or just remove early sensor from the sns files of the units you want to test :salute:

I have set the dates of when the Radar on all nodes is added to 1938 and my Radar warning detector shows a radar warning, but the ships seem to follow the ships (Poorly, but it's still something) But they do not seem to use them to engage the targets. I have seen the Bismarck use the Radar to attack enemies through fog, but It does not seem to do that any more.

Gap, I have noticed quite a few ships are missing the R01 node.

I am not good enough with GR2 editors to add these nodes to the ships myself.

Could you check your Bismarck battleship, Konigsberg Cruiser, Schleswig Holstien Battleship, the Admiral Hipper and Admiral Graf Spee battlecruiser?

Because these are just a few of the ships I have been trying to attach a Radar to, but they do not have any nodes for it.

I have put the Radar on the C and D nodes, but the ships are not using them to fire through the fog anymore.

The Bismarck got R01, R02 and R03 bones. They are not linked directly to the hull, but to the 3D models representing ship's radars.

The Koenigsberg class cruiser got an R01 bone.

The remaining units didn't get any R bone.

I can create them, if you want.

That would be very helpful, thank you.:salute:

Download it here:

German Navy radar fix (http://www.mediafire.com/?5xs8s1qidcusxu3)

I have added an R01 node to the following units:

Deutschland-class battleships
Deutschland-class heavy cruisers
Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruisers

Of them, it seems that only the Graf Spee & Co were planned to receive a radar in game. The unit got a separate mesh for the radar, and its sns file got a couple of radar entries, but devs probably forgot to add the needed bone to the model :-?

After my fixes, all of them got the FuMO23 as medium war upgrade. I don't now how historical this configuration is, but you can change it any time through sns file settings

Thank you very much, I will get straight to using them and testing it.

I will tell you any test results as soon as they come in.

Hot off the presses.:D

Keep us informed if it works

Last night I sent the ships with the medium war upgrades to attack a fleet of 4 British battleships not equipped with Radar, and the ships used their radars to locate the enemy ships, but they did not use them to fire the weapons.

And these ships should be using the radar to fire through the fog, but they use their radar to steer themselves into visual range, and that means they are very, very close.

Maybe I need a stock AI sensors file or something along those lines.

And the Radars DO work gap, the Sub's radar warning receiver showed a green line coming from all the allied ships.

I have tried most ships, and I am unable to get them to fire through the fog at this time...:/\\!!

Quite a while ago ships WERE firing through the fog and at targets long distances through fog but not anymore?

I have been looking for quite a while and I am yet to find anything along the lines of ships using Radar to attack through fog.

They just charge through the fog looking for the target and then attacking it once in visual range.
