Advice needed.

I am new to Sub Command after years of playing SH. I was wondering about any unofficial patches and any must have mods out there.

In SC most people played the stock version 1.08, at least in my (only multiplayer) experience :)
V1.08 was very stable and practically bugs free.

Personally i have no experience with the SCX/SCU MOD.

In my opinion the SCX mod is a must have for sub command. It adds units and improves on the models in the game. It also make game play more realistic.

I went back to patch 1.07 because 1.08 seemed to have an affect on the sound from contacts in the sonar suite by making them a lot lower in volume, but perhaps that was just me. As Nexus7 says, from a multiplayer perspective then stock 1.08 is the way to go, but not sure if many multiplayer games take place anymore.
