1. After you load the mods in JSGME u must run SH5Schiffe.exe wich can be found in Silent Hunter 5 Main Folder.

2. Start new campaign and exit the game. Open CareerHistory.cfg ( \documents\SH5\data\cfg) and make following changes

3. now edit the main.cfg found in \Documents\SH5\data\cfg .

4.The next thing i adjust in the main.cfg is [DEVELOPING] Copy this and paste

5. Download the .gps file from here (https://www.mediafire.com/file/flib9f1oeexb5tf/gps.gps/file) and load it in TDW's GenericPatcher
6. Start a new Campaign and skip the tutorial mission, set up your game realism and then save it. Exit to main menu then load the save game.

For this Mod List u will need the lates .gps file !!!

IRAI_0_0_39_Inertia_Damage was made for use it with TDW Ship Inertia mod only.. if you aren't using Ship Inertia better to remove Inertia Damage :yep:..

Yes i know...in those days you loaded it up the first time i updated the file in filearea but somehow i forgot to update thte downloadlink...

i just found that make some conflicts with Magui interface sounds ....
with this mod u wont hear the sound when u fire the torpedos without this mod u hear it.
Added 3 more mods to the list also.

I have a question. What makes your mod list different from Sober's?
For instance, what have you strived for in your mods: realism? historical accuracy? fun? fantasy?
What ideals too precedence when you downloaded your mods? I'd like to know before I commit to your large mod list.

sober mod list use TDW UI's interfaces...and more mods... with sober mod list u can play very realistic with real navigation
My mod list use CSP Magui interface...wich interface it's not compatible with some TDW, Trevally and other mods for example:

Messageboy101 made a special version for Dyn Env 2.9 compatible inside the download...and you're using V2.9 :hmmm:
Also, you could replace those 2 mods Memel Terrain fix for OH2 V2.2 and

Yes, you have followed the correct procedure, but you should compare your in game resolution settings, rather than the maximum resolution of your system. :03:

I have put on your mod list in the correct order.
I have a problem.
In the bunker I have sound of repairs etc being done
When I click on the flotilla commander I do not get any voice only the bunker sounds.
The same happends when showing the missions on the map. No voice only the bunker sounds.

I think it was just a bad load I exited windows and reloaded ok.
I also had a few problems with the left console and the teleports bar not coming up when using the mouse. The right console worked ok
When being briefed about missions when the map stop moving I was not able to select a starting mission. Where the missions are showing in the top left hand corner you can see them but they seems to be shaded.
I would be interested to know if anyone else is getting any peculiar happenings.

Your problem with consoles isn't normal. It work great here. Maybe a corrupt file?
To select a mission, you have to clic the little round black iron cross somehere on the map (usely where next action is). Then clic the bar where you see ask a mission...
Then to exit the map window and be back in bunker, you have to clic map top right corner (the black cross isn't showing very well using IO Strategic map mod)

my game language it is in german that's why i dont have German Language Pack
if u have english language and if u wish to use Stormy's DBSM SH5 then u must add german language pack mod too.

No, with your console not working, only corrupt file may be in the CSP Magui...or patch :03:
Try to redownload, extract with 7Zip and see if better.

You were spot on mate.
I took all the mods off except
TDW Generic Patcher
Parts Magui v3.01 by Dr Jones
Parts Magui v3.01 by Dr Jones - English Menu
And it worked I got the left console, centre, teleports shortcuts bar, and right console all coming up properly.
So the Parts Magui v3.02 Patch is the problem for me.
I do not understand why the right console was working but the others did not when using the Patch
So I wonder why this is not a problem for other shipmates as we are all downloading from the same source and I have tried 4 clean downloads without success.
I do not know what the implications are if I try to play on without this patch. I certainly can't play with it as if I try to reload I ctd.
Well, if the Parts Magui v3.02 Patch is the problem, you can play without it of course but you'll stay on previous version...without new additions.
And of course you'll can't activate IO Strategic Map for V3.02 patch.
I don't understand why you're having such issue even with new download :hmm2:

I set up TDW Generic Patcher the same as Sjizzles instructions we are both using the 112 version. I notice that some of the changes have now been reversed.
For instance
Randomise nearest visual contact distance
(randomise_nearest_visual_contact_distance)
Description Randomizes nearest visual contact distance reported by WA takes crew veterency level into account. returns range in hundreds of meters

Sjizlle is showing this as blue and mine is red. So I do not know whether 1 or 2 or both should be enabled or both. He does not show any instructions for this change.
I assumed that the Generic Patcher is the first mod enabled it is only natural then for certain mods to change the settings. Should it go on last?
If DrJones patch is working for you then there must be something I am doing wrong which comes back to the Generic Patcher

'TDW compatible' doesn't mean - TDW UI compatible..
It means - this edition compatible with the TDW's edition of UBoot_Sensors.sim.. and this file included in the FX Update.. IRAI.. etc..

1. JSGME install all Mods
2. Run Schiffe.exe
3. Installed Generic Patcher latest Version 1_0_149 and setup all the Pathes for the Files in your Tutorial
4. Loaded the gps File and closed the Programm
Then i get sh5.exe Apcrash when i start to launch Silent Hunter 5

V4 Modifications:
- Added destructible Radars and RWR antennas
- Revised HP and armor settings for some equipment
- Overall submarine strengths set to 1000HP, this way max dive depth of the submarine will be more effected by amount of damage.
- Overall 750HP for Type VIIc . This is because the game tends to CTD after large amount of damage is taken with VIIc. This probably wont be solved until TDW is back so don't waith those destroyers on surface...(like you have other choice...:D)

Dunno about CTD's, but for sure New UI's is more memory intensive, and many SH5 players have reported that it doesn't work together with MTNS (a mod by Uekel adding a whole bunch of new ships to the game).

Unfortunately yes. Currently MaGui is missing support for at least:
- TDW's automated scripts engine;
- individual engine control patch;
- decks awash patch.
- speech recognition (though I could be wrong on this)
Moreover, real navigation, the possibility to "lock" the hydrophone on a specific target (as opposed to always following the nearest target), and a few more features are missing.
Is this using or can I add real navigation to it ?
Maybe in future. Currently you can't use TDW's real navigation on MaGui.
Do you know if this is in anyway a compromise to realism compared to NewUI ?
Not really. Both mods aim to be realistic, each in its own way:
- New UI's sacrifices eye candy for some advanced functionalities;
- MaGui on the contrary looks much more "40's" (many interface panels are taken directly from pictures of u-boat dashboards, gauges, levers, buttons, etc.), but it is still missing several useful features.

i like both interface magui and tdw's interface .... and i play with both of them not in same time ....
i like magui interface cos is less CPU heavy and his look but i like also TDW's interface.
I didn't said that prefer Magui or TDW's this mod list is for players who wanna try other.

I can't raise or lower the attack scope when in periscope view. The scope sound plays when I hit the Insert/Delete keys, but the scope itself doesn't budge.
Do you know what might be going on?

I thought I was using the attack scope, when instead I was using the observation scope (which I raised by clicking on it in the command room.) That would explain why I got the raise/lower sound, but no movement - I was moving the attack scope the whole time! :oops:

All I had to do was enable the course tool in SH5Schiffe, and voila, I can now actually plot a course. :woot:

I am setting up TDW's Generic Patcher and I keep getting SH_NClient doesn't exist error message. Everything else patches just fine except for that one. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Funny you should mention that. I came back to SH5 last week after playing other things for a couple of years. When I tried to start SH5 I got an error message saying that SH_NClient was missing and I needed to re-install the sim. I looked in the file and it wasn't there. I copied it from a backup file and then the sim started when I tried it. After copying the file I also added TDW's Generic Patcher with no more trouble than the average idiot would have. What's odd is that before this when I started it, it would start without any 'Uplay' screens. Now Uplay starts and I have to start the sim from there. Also it says I have the 'Gold Edition' which I didn't have before. I have "offline" checked off and Uplay says I do but will I now have to have an Internet connection to play? And how do I get around that now? Sorry, my answer to your question is too long and goes off course.

I installed all the mods listed from Sjizzle's mod list in the exact order with Jsgme. I did not do anything with TDW generic patcher as I am very confused what to do with it. I have been away from the SH5 for a while. I know there is a download link to a walk through but my computer does not have microsoft reader or anything to view it.
The TDW patcher just shows a blank white screen with only 1 place to click, "File".
When in the game I come across 2 major problems.
(1) There is only 1 watchstander on deck, during surface. When I dive the sub I get a CTD.
(2) When I am at any station, ex. looking through binoculars or periscope and try to exit that staion the comp. pings and I recieve a weird message with some codes in a gray box. It looks to be from the comp. not the game.
Can anyone please help? I would love to start playing and get underway again. Thanks.

and about what u need to enable in tdw patcher download this .gps file and load it in your patcher ...

I think you can remove this mod Expanded Navies by Cybermat47 v.1.0.01 from your mod list.
I have check the file in the Expanded Navies by Cybermat47 v.1.0.01 folder with Winmerge, and all file in the folder was already included in the Open Horizons II v2.4 + Patch2 IMPORTANT mod, and they have identical file.
Or maybe I am wrong?

Yes I downloaded the magui gps file. Am I to save that file in "snapshots" and restore with the generic file patcher?? I tried it this way and still have problems? Also I run SH5Schiffe and all I see it does is label 203 ship names, does that sound correct? Thank you.

put this magui.gps.
Silent Hunter V\MODS\TDW_GenericPatcher_v_1_0_149_0\Snapshots\
and run the patcher and then restor the .gps file
Where is that file "TDW_GenericPatcher_v_1_0_149_0" I ran a search and it did not show up anywhere?

all mods work with the steam version....
only the TDW generic patcher doesn't work with steam version .... and without that patcher the game is full of bugs.
It's better to buy a DVD version of the game for 5 - 10 Euro from Amzon.

I've been out of SH5 for a year and I'd like to try this mod list. I got sober's list working last year. Should I use that thread to set everything else up and then just use this mod list?
I am good with computers but there is just so much information on this site that I have trouble figuring out what applies to what I'm trying to do and what doesn't. :doh:
Edit: I'm just going to install Sjizzle's mega mod.

Hey Sjizzle,
first of all nice work!!! I use this Mod-list instead of your Mega-Mod with MagUI, because I dont like the caribbean feeling that comes with the dynamic-environment-Mod...everything seems too bright and shiny for atlantic and baltic sea. With this list I can just pick my favourite mods...
Concerning your modlist I have a question about using the Generic Patcher. In general I know how to use this program, but I want to ask whether I have to unpack some Mods that come with the patcher after I loaded the gps-file.

I can't seem to get out of Kiel. I have just finished Coastal Waters and now I've started the British Coastal Waters mission. The game loads fine but crashes once I get near the canal. I've tried going through the canal and the long way around out through the harbor entrance. I've also noticed that there are 2 Polish Freighters about a kilometer into the canal. Is that normal and could this be causing the crash? The crash always seems to happen whenever I get near the canal entrance. I have tried different TC values with nothing over x 32 and with travel mode on and off.

I am trying it again right now. I am on my 5th save on my way through the canal. This seems to be working but we will have to see. I went ahead and deck gunned the first Polish Freighter with no adverse affects. Boy, could you imagine being stuck in the Keil canal when the war began! that would suck! I am abit surprised that the lazy Luftwaffe didn't do something about these crazy Poles before I had to deal with them LOL! I also have one more question. How do make the lazy gun crew stow the deckgun after an engagment. The only way I can get it stowed is by saving and exiting the game entirely. I will let you know Sjizzle if I can get through the canal or not.
I made it through after saving the game 5 times between Kiel and Rendsburg. Strange but it worked. And I am having a real problem getting my deckgun stowed as it should be facing forward. Any ideas? Also it is telling me at the save screen that I failed the Baltic ops mission even though I accomplished everything that was offered.
Has anyone run into the problem of the deckgun not being stowed forward after giving the order to secure it? I cant get the crew to stow the damn thing correctly.

thx... sadly DrJones abandoned this project and didn't gave some1 else permission to continue the project...the only down side of the mod list is that the real navigation it's not ready...if u wish to have real navigation than u need to calculate your position using the sextant :D Hardcore real navigation :D...

Before activating the deck gun click on the battle stations icon from your watch officer.
When you have finished click on the icon again abd your crew will position the deck gun correctly to its forward position.

Ich wurde es nicht installieren, weil es nicht stabil ist...wenn du mochtes dann kannst du est machen... nach SteelViking's Sky Banding Mod...
da sind auch andere sound mods im diese mod liste
