Hi and thanks for stopping by.
I'm currently working on some new screens for SH3, namely the career loading screen, the Barracks screen, Campaign screen, Mission Orders screen and a few other bits and pieces.
Now remember, this is a work in progress. Here is what i'm talking about:

Now as you can see from those 3 examples, lots has been done to the originals, but, remember, WIP and lots to do still, just some rough Alphas i wanted to show, to get some Feedback.
There are more screens (Mission Orders and Career are just 2) which i haven't shown, that i'm working on...
I know something similar has been done before by Sea Wolf, whom by the way i draw inspiration from, but, i'm extending a lot further out than him.
So, the production line is continuing with this :haha:

Hmm... i seem to have hit a snag. The SingleMissions tga which i edited doesn't seem to 'stick' when loading up a new campaign.
Instead, the old tga file still loads.
I've tried to make the edited tga file smaller, still no go.
Any ideas? Jim? Is there another screen like this in GWX3:

here is an update!
3 Screens are now finished. Following is a copy of before and after, i've kept the image sizes big like this so you can truly appreciate (hopefully) where the improvements took place:

As you can see some major differences, these are final, and completed.
Next will be the Campaign Log screen, the Radio Messages screen, Periscope screen, UZO screen, Rec Manual screen and possibly the shortcuts icons on the gui.

Would be good to get some feedback on those 3 finished screens i just posted, would People use them? Do they look ok? Of course it's a subjective view.

The only one so far I am not so keen on is the loading screen that has the sub with the dazzle camo in it. Is that an Arctic camo?
Doesn't seem to work as well as all the others for me.
But as you have said - that is an entirely subjective view.
You have done very nice work on all the screens I have seen so far - just so happens that particular one doesn't do it for me.

I will change that ugly sub to something a little more 'reserved'.

I think they look acceptable.
This is a bigger job than what i first thought. Once i finish a image, i look at it then an hour later realise i'm not happy with it and i edit again.

Now, as for textures of a Claus Bergen, are you looking for a skin similar to the colours of your sig?

Bergen made paints of WW1 and WW2 U boats. Also he painted others Kriegsmarine ships. I like to see your oldie papers with a Bergen paint; and you can made many screens for randomly activation with SH3 Commander!

Last Update before Release!
I touched up the last few screens which i will post shortly.
I concentrated mainly on Campaign gameplay screens, didn't really touch single play missions.
All in all, even though it may not look like much has changed in some screens, let me tell you there was a lot of fiddling around, with accentuating edges, making them more pronounced and clear, to individual letter indentations, once again making the writing more clear and legible in some cases.
Also, as you would have seen, the 'paper' used in the sh3 screens was just too bland so i touched up all paper to a faded and slightly worn look.
Some screens you will find have been updated with new backdrops or backgrounds, i tried to pick the best backgrounds for the particular situation, ie. light(er) backgrounds for darker foregrounds, and vice versa.
Some colours have been made brighter and more alive, or darker, in some cases where it warrants it.
Overall, i'm quiete happy with the state of the screens, as i said before here are some more screens, release of these screens is imminent.
The damage control room has been redone, thanks to feedback from VONHARRIS:

It may not look like much change has gone into it but the letters have been re-inked, the stamp has been re-inked and of course the 'paper'.
Next we have the Log screen, once again, doesn't look like much has happened, does it?

The paper of course, lines on the paper have been re-inked, the blotting pad has been re-coloured, new rosewood teture on the bench top left, the wehr pass re-coloured and wehr logo re-inked...
Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions or requests before release?

Mod has been made JSGME-compatible for easy in/un-install.

My opinion.
The first screen - catches the eyes of his "museum's" origins.
The second screen - catches the eyes non correspondence of the armed forces, i see a field construction of non german land Air Force...
The third screen - just GWX is better...
The few last screens are good... but for easy reading working information necessary to reduce the contrast of the background images, and may be slightly defocus them...
and more... I believe that this is a perversion (not the right idea about things of that era) to represent documents in the interfaces as the old manuscripts of 2,000 years ago. :haha:

Hi all.
(sorry in advance for the image-heavy post, however it was needed to get the full effect of my update)
After some thought, i have decided to re-do the 'paper' part of this mod.
Ie any screens in SH 3(GWX) with a paper-type texture which the game 'writes' onto.
For example, the mission loading screen, which has your mission details like port location, patrol co-ordinates, U-Boot class, Recognition manual, and many others.
I draw your attention to my original re-worked paper texture...
(Note: when looking at the following screens, please do not take into consideration anything other than the 'paper' textures).

After deciding, with some input from a few others, to go with a different paper texture, here are some new screens, these are the single mission and campaign load screens.
2 versions, 1 with bubbles, 1 without (Jim, i left your Boat alone...for now :O:):

I'm pretty much done with it now, after re-tuning some screens.
This release will be version 1 (there may be other updates\versions to this).
Requests for changes to next version will be considered.
This mod took me a crapton of time, partly my fault because i just wasn't happy with some of the screens.
This mod doesn't change all ingame screens.
Following now i will post some images, comparing stock (GWX 3) and edited screens.
NOTE: GWX 3 is required for this to work.
Also this mod is NOT compatible with alternative loading screen mods.

yes it takes you to your download section because you clicked it when others click it it takes them to theirs. the URL trick (you aren't doing it intentionally though) is one i have used on online games example i woulds have on my profile "i know where your bases are" and have the URL and it takes them to their bases page.
