I'm just coming back to this game after a break and am trying to get some mods working for the first time. I'm running TMO 2.5 and am trying PE4 and ROW sound effect mods using GME but am seeing/hearing absolutely no difference. The game looks/sounds exactly the same with Pacific Environments 4 enabled as it does without it. I was expecting a complete overhaul, or some minimal differences at least but there's literally no changes at all that I can see. Improved Stock Environments is very noticeable. I'm also using the mod to unlock the type XVIII from the get-go of the U-boat campaign but it is not showing up. Are any of these compatible with TMO? As I said, the game runs fine so obviously there's no conflicts but I've seen no changes as if I were playing vanilla TMO. :hmm2: But how am I to know if a mod is working? The type XVIII is not but it's enabled. I never know what will work and what won't.
Also, a few other things:
1) the crew in the U-boat missions speak English. Is there a way to change it back to the way it was in SH III? I have tried the Das Boot mod but it caused my game to freeze when launching a mission, and continued to freeze even after I disabled it (and any others). Had to re-install the game.
2) the mods I'm mostly interested in are ones that focus on presentation and that are compatible with TMO as well. I want the best graphical and audio upgrades available. Any combinations you guys are using that you can recommend that also work fine with the mega mods? TMO and ISE don't work together and as mentioned I don't see any change with PE4.
3) I have my mod folder in my main Silent Hunter 4 directory as well as the GME executable. The data folder is in the same directory. Do I need the mod folder and executable in data, or just the SH4 main? It works fine the way it is but I see some files say they need to be in the data folder and as I mentioned above I can't tell if some mods are working or not (XVIII).
