i was curious if ANYONE has found out if sh3 outputs the "Name=", not the Class= or name given in EnglishNames.cfg, but the Name= given to a ship sunk in the Campaign_SCR.mis file? We all know it prints out the class within the patrol log, which can be found in save game or Log_ files, (or the name given to it in EnglishNames.cfg).
I know it outputs the Class in the Log_ file and the .clg file in a save, but does it out put the actual "name=" given to it in the campaign layer?
I know there is a few files that are in computer language within the save game files of the SH3 folder in documents (for example the .sav files) which are hard to read.
Creating a dynamic campaign is an issue here unless the game prints out somehwere!!!! the specific name of that unit sunk. Because if you delete all units of the same class in the campaign_SCR file then you could also be deleting sister ships that use the same class (ship model).
Wondering if anyone knew anything about this. Another way would be to find out what unit was sunk by finding out what classes were in the same grid at the time of the sinking, in order to find out the exact unit.
When answering, please do respond with SH3Commander and its use of REal names... etc... I know how that works and that doesn't address this issue becaue SH3Commander only reads the class in the patrol log too, that is why all ship names are organized by ship class within it's files.
So only the knowledgeable answer please.
Thank you.
