Trevally.

With the UI mod uninstalled in JSGME, right click and explore
http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/4074/47343928.jpg
go here and find the editor:- C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\NewUIs_TDC_7_2_1_ByTheDarkWraith\data\Appli cations\OptionsFileEditorViewer
http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/4029/44417494.jpg
Run the app
Next you need to set the path to the menu txt file
http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/6199/46961962.jpg
Point the app to the menu.txt file that is within the UI mod
http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/743/24846723.jpg
Next is to set your SH5 install path
http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/2521/80242343.jpg
http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/4996/33801338.jpg
Here you can see that both paths have now been set
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/4959/52866883.jpg
Next we need to open the option file
http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/3636/32343463.jpg
Point it to the TheDarkWraithUserOptions.py
C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\NewUIs_TDC_7_2_1_ByTheDarkWraith\data\Scrip ts\Menu
http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/1406/63538083.jpg
Now the app will show you a list of options by tabs along the top.
Here I have selected the SOAN tab
Turn a feature on by double clicking the false to change it to true
http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/6176/60939620.jpg
When you are finished - close the app and it will save your setting (next time you use it the paths will be preset.
Now install the UI mod with JSGME
:yeah:

I was able to change all the hotkeys listed with no problems. How are you trying to change them? You have to double click the 'Hotkey' entry to have the window show up for configuring the hotkey. After you make your changes you press Accept. Now to have your changes saved you need to File-->Save.
Update: Got it now.
If you open up a hotkey window enough times, and it has options of handled, Shift required, Ctrl required, or Alt required, you must double click the word hotkey for the window below to show up.
If you open up a hotkey window (example SOAN or item notes) and only has the option of true or false, then you doubleclick the true or false option.

Yeah, I figured that it would do this automatically ( like when doing it the old way ) when I exited, when it did not it threw me for a bit of a loop. So I eventually did what you mentioned and everything was fine.
Your tutorial was spot on :up: I then installed the UI Mod, then the patch after this, worked fine.
Thanks man, coming through again!

The only error I received when using the editor was trying to change
the Journal Name from the default TheDarkWraith. It would not accept the changes in this option.
I am wondering for that one if doing it the old way will do the trick....
Very usefull thread Trevally:yeah: Must be sticky as well as How to use TDWPatchers and others 'How to...'

Did a reformat of my computer and reinstalled SH5. When I go to run the Options Editor I get the above. I have gotten this before with another install but not sure why. Before the reformat I did not have this problem.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Are you talking about the stock map tools? Since you are using my UIs mod there is a draggable compass located on the nav map on the right upper-middle side. Have you treid using that? You also have a bearing overlay that is accessible by clicking one of the little corner icons of the nav map (forget which one).
Are you wanting to change the color of those map tools (the lines they draw)? If so you need to use my Generic Patcher to do that.

Thank u for responding. I will check out the nav map thoroughly this time:<)
Color is ok to me.
I still have to learn hydro attacks... I think I will also download other tutorials ... always more to learn. After Hydro... I will move on to periscope attacks .....
