Ok, so I've been poking around the SH3 sound files in order to do some minor mods, and it got me thinking about radio messages. I know very few are "real" from a gameplay standpoint, especially if you're using GWX. That is to say, most of them are just for realism and color, but you can't use them to find contacts and convoys in-game, etc. I know there is a text file with a list of radio messages in the Campaigns>Campaign folder, but does that include the actual contacts you get by radio, or are those messages stored and/or generated from somewhere else? I didn't see anything that looked like an actual in-game convoy report in that text doc.

The convoy messages are generated elsewhere, but I've no idea where.

Convoy reports are automated and just include the basic info. The text that will appear is located in the language ini file, where all the menu texts etc are scripted. You can change it, but all contact reports will have the same text you put.

The contact report info comes from the map editor on the unit or group where you can set the interval (minutes) and probability of receiving (percentage). I like to set friendly units to report every hour.
