One of the things I am wondering is if anyone knows of or has a mod that will change visibility both day time and night time.

For some reason it seems every single time I have a ship sighting it is in heavy fog in the day time and complete moonless night at night..

Thus I am unable to see the target until I get within 400 yards...at which point torps are useless since they will not arm..

Any suggestions?

This time around I am using TMO and Real Environment mods also...

I have this same issue and I also use both of those mods. It's a real pain when you're being chased at night by a destroyer and can't destroy it because you can't see through your scope during the night time. During the day the visibility should be up to 2000 yards through the scope and maybe 700 through the look outs.

On a clear day, visibility should be horizon and during a half moon night, perhaps 4000 yards and a full moon 10000 yards easy. Cloudy should come in at about 1500 to 2000 yards...

I am just getting bored of constantly using my guns It would be nice to see what I am shooting at let alone getting a lock at all for torps

My playable ships have vastly superior visability settings than stock. Just copy the sensorvisualsub and Sensors_sub_US from one of my ships. It won`t make that much a differance in heavy fog, though.

Cool thanks! Will do that asap!

Is there also a mod to reduce the amount of 'bad' weather? I always seem to get fog every time there is a contact..

I wouldn't use Real Env. mod with TMO that already has an env. mod tweaked to work with sensors. However, if you want to run RE, it doesn't seem to impact TMO's sensors too much. However, RE has fog issues, If iyou want to use Real Env, make sure you install the "Lite fog fix" for Real Env, that should solve most of your fog issues.
