Ahoy Capitans :salute:
Is there a posibility to incerase Periscope "Lock on target" distance, because when Im trying to identify a ship from more than 2500m the lock on my scope breaks and im unable to collect important data.
And second thing, can i make night a little bit bright because sometimes I cant identify target.
Please Help.

Hi,
2500m is 2734yds.... that should be well within the lock possibility of the periscope or TBT.
On a clear day you can lock at 5nm (briefly tho but you can).
There's a "brightness" slide in the graphics option, even when you're in game.
If your eyes keep fooling you at night, you can alway's as your second to tell you what ship it is :88)

I don't think there is a setting which can easily do that. If you are playing stock, I would try a good mega-mod; this might help some. However, the game has it's issues and AFAIK, these things are likely to happen from time to time.

You could always download a mod that lightens the sky, MaxOptics IV for SH4 1.5 does this for easier ship identification. If you don't like the entire maxoptics mod just make yourself a little mod out of the parts of it you do like. Of course you shouldn't release this or any other part of a mod without getting the consent of the original author first.

Thanks a lot 4 all of You:)
I will definitelly try Max Optics (And NEVER release it with my changes, without permission of original authors, like I did in my Ambushed Mod, I mixed up TMO and RFB but its personal use only and still have some bugs. When I think my mod is good I will DEFINITELLY ask ALL TMO and RFB creators for permission to release my mod:) )
Thank You all again and good hunting.

The lock on feature is based on the visual range of the crew and env. values. You can certainly adjust these values and effect visual ranges.
You can add more light to night and it can greatly effect visual ranges of your crew and the AI, makes moonlight attacks more interesting. I totally rewored my envs and use something near this.

This is TMO, fairly dark, not much moonlight halo or cloud reflection

This is TMO with more moonlight with a few change to the env, so you can see the effect, much more light so increased visuals. For me TMO is
too blue, but you can simply increase the sunskyinfluence values in the night files. This may be too much, but somewhere around .50 to .70 gives good effect. Basically remember any sun values in the night files effect the moon, not the sun.

This is the thread with different looks. If it's a lil confusing, I could make a small mod for TMO and email it to you.

often its just a matter of scope height so lack of getting a lock can be fixed but raising up 1m.
also the mods you use can effect it as most large mods try to make the game harder

as far as i know, NSM is only for v1.4 of the game and everything else is for v1.5 of the game so what version of the game do you actually have?
