Hey guys.
Okay, I need some help to find where I can increase the time of a sinking ship is visible to the player in SH5, as they tend to disappear as they are sinking, if not sinking fast enough.
Also I have this weird issue, that the terrain is changing up to different random rock placements and plantation, is this fixable? When I firstly started the game I didn't notice that, I was using external camera to guide me trough the shallow waters, so that I don't hit any rocks.
But now that the terrain is doing this, it's quite difficult.
And is it normal that with UI mod (I believe), you can go trough terrain near ports, using external camera.
Many thanks, and I hope that someone cane help me with these problems.

You cant hit the rocks - only the sea bed:up:

Oh, but when cruising underwater, after crash diving, the submarine somehow gets damaged, even though it doesn't touch the sea bed, also after installing mods, there seems to be invisible sea bed above the visible sea bed textures, and the opposite in ports.

This is a known bug of the stock game, and another hardcoded feature. A while back, TheDarkWraith released a patch partly fixing the issue, but it resulted that for some memebers it had worse side-effects that benefits.
You can give a try to it, if you want. I think it is still included in his Generic Patcher pack. Get the latest version here:

P.S: I had a look to the list of features, and it seems that TDW released a fixed version of the above mentioned patch. It is called "sub on bottom patch"

He did, I managed to install it yesterday using his patcher and it seems to work. If you hit the sea bed at speed though....crunch!!

That's great! But I can't say this was a very painful issue to me, as I try to avoid combat/contact in shallow waters with tankers and submersion, or simply submerging in shallow waters.
How about the seabed terrain switching and increasing sunken ship's visibility before disappearance, and see trough sea bed textures in shallow waters.

This is a stock behaviour: the seabed (including rocks, seaweeds, etc) changes whenever you move the camera from it. No way to fix it :yep:
and see trough sea bed textures in shallow waters.
This is added by one of TDW's mods, I believe New UI's. I think it has to do with some camera setting, but I am not sure about it

These are settings of the file - cameras.cam.. in stock was not ability to move the camera close to the objects, after the appearance of this ability the camera can pass through some objects.. everything has a price..

Oh damn... I don't know, however, how come I didn't notice this, when I was hunting some ships at shallow waters, maybe it was because near a port. Oh well...

However I'm pretty sure, I can also move the camera inside the cities, and trough some objects, that I couldn't without it. So, it seems I'll just have to deal with it.
Thanks for the help, you've really helped me a lot, you deserve a cookie. :yep:
So... that pretty much buries all the issues, however the smell will still be in the air. Only the one last question remains about the sunken ship's remains disappearance. I would like to increase the time they are visible. This time has been decreased, somehow, with one of my mods, probably UI mod.

Oh, unfortunately I can't change up the file in any way, since it looks like this in notepad
8aY` —D>e
CamUserData J 8aY` — 6 2 CamUserData Camera PreviousCamera
$ ,.=` —D>e
RestrictedRotation ,.=` — ‹ RestrictedRotation ! Azimunth Min 4 Max 4C" Elevation Min € Max €? Tight Targetable AffectParent
............................
And what does modifying it give you anyway, only ability to take a closer look at your submarine's bad textures and ugly cities?

..I would like to increase the time they are visible.
it's impossible.. it's hard-coded in the .exe-file
PS: mods doesn't change the .exe-file

just remove it from the mods or replace with the stock one..
EDIT:

But somehow this has been changed. Or maybe the value is different when I have the ships sunk, rather than exploded in half.
I have a few questions:
1. I get new radio messages in 25m depth! I think, it should only work when the boat is on the surface! How can I change this?
2. I get anoying footsteps sounds when I use the hydrophone! Which sound file is it?
3. Where can I read the status messages which I have sent?
