Just breathing life into an old idea and adding the forward torpedo room to the interiors mod, still havent finished adding all the geometry but there is enough to show a couple of pics. (all pics were taken in game)

+i know the interiors were already completed by using the meshes from sh5 for the missing rooms, but ive always wanted to add my own models, just personal preference, no disrespect intended to the talented modder who completed the interiors:salute:

! it just keeps getting better. I haven't loaded up SH3 in quite some time. Just looking at it again the last couple days. Trying to sort out what I should add to get it up to date. Amazing how far it has come. Thanks for all your work.:salute:

FlakMonkey, I love you.

Can't wait. Loved the first New Interior Mod. I do have some thoughts. The diesels were wayyyyyy too loud in the command room and i'd like it if there was crew to occupy the compartments. There is a mod out there to add crew but the people don't move. Will the people in this new mod be animated?

Just some suggestions. I love the mod either way. Keep up the good work!

I am greatly looking forward to this! I notice you've added crew - does this mean you'll be doing it for the rest of the boat?

Hate to pile on your workload as well, but what news of those Type IX interiors you were working on?

Flakmonkey, this looks excellent. Will the hanging lamps swing with the movement of the boat? Will there ever be an interior update for the type IX?

what a great mod Flakmonkey :Kaleun_Applaud:
absolutely awesome

ps: if you dig at your past pms ,you will find some tiny-very tiny details that need a small fix so maybe now is time to take care of them as you are still on it

Hello Flakmonkey,

please allow me the question, why you do not work on the Type IX e.g. when the Type VII is already done?

Hello Flakmonkey,

please allow me the question, why you do not work on the Type IX e.g. when the Type VII is already done?

Regards
Blueduck

I think the vii has always been my favourite boat and the one i use most in game, + someone else is working on the type ii interior.

+just a bit of an update...
The geometry for the new fore torpedo room is all in game now, i still have to correct some problems and inaccuracies from the v1.0 interiors (officers mess area), also i will be adding static crew throughout the interior.

Any suggestions let me know...

It is a bit heavy on the texture data (as was v1.0), i think a minimum of a dx11 card with 1Gb ram should be a sensible reccomended spec.... Im testing it on a similar card to this along with other mods running, like the merchant fleet mod and my own exterior lightmaps mod + gwx etc, if it works at 60 fps with my mod soup i will be satisfied, although there are always going to be unforseen clashes and incompatibilities with mods, i will do my best:salute:

Using your mod I have always sound interferences inside boat with working diesel engine :hmm2:

Using your mod I have always sound interferences inside boat with working diesel engine :hmm2:

Working on that problem, for now a solution with the v1.0 interiors is to delete the sound folder from the mod before activating with jsgme.

static crew throughout the interior

this would be so awesome:salute:

this would be so awesome:salute:

It has been done before. Static Crew was added in another Add-on mod to the original New Interiors. I tried it out and didn't like it because they were posed in odd positions. If FlakMonkey does it right, the static crew will look great. If they are posed awkwardly....well....I'm sorry. FlakMonkey, I'm not trying to hate on your work. I love your work. I would just love animated Engine Room Crew at the very least. If the Officer's Mess and the Aft Quarters were unpopulated, I'd be just fine and dandy. Static crew that are sleeping in the bunks would be cool too. :yeah:

Someone posted a new diesel engine sound file that fixed the noise problem:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=162778

The engine noise is louder than stock (slightly) but much quieter compared to the bugged engine noise.

Hi, do you have an estimated release date yet. Many thanks

flakmonkey
01-14-13, 02:07 PM
no firm release date yet, im currently rendering new lightmaps for the remodelled forward quarters (no more corner sofa thing)

i think ive sorted the sound problems, and ive almost finished adding collision meshes to stop the free cam roaming through walls etc...

still got to add crew to aft quarters, galley and engine room.

I think the sleeping guys are not your problem... I can understand that the static crew looks strange. I personally should have left them out or make them optional. But I have no idea what I'm talking about and what the value is of my opinion.

I'm thankfull for every new great MOD and this one certainly looks fantastic! :)

It looks absoulutley stunning! :D

However, if I could change one thing, it would be the very yellow light from the lightbulbs. It does not fit very well with the more white lighting on the walls. Of course, this is just my personal preference. :)

Keep up this exellent work, you have made a way better interior than in SH5! The atmosphere is amazing! :salute:

Should be able to tweak the halo properties to make them a bit less yellow i think, i will give it a try.
Also for those who dislike the posed static crew i will release with an option for just the sleeping crewmen.

Oh Flakmoneky. Thanks for adding those interiors. I dont really care if those models are static. Better have a static model than empty submarine i think.

01-16-13, 07:57 AM
Static models I think are great, as long as the pose is believable...The only one I would suggest changing is the cook. I'd face him toward the pots and cooking range, maybe with his arms folded or something. That would be believable for long periods.

Your sleeping crew are great!!! I was hoping this would get added. Any plans to add one or two sleepers to the aft quarters too?

After almost of year at port, I think its time for me to reload SH3 and get back out to sea.

Rickster1

this is just the best mod, I cant believe its coming true:woot:FM, you are the BEST

Better a static crew than no crew! I imagine the best places are in the bunks as they would be rather still anyway

This is more like a patch for the original interiors rather than a whole new mod, but for the sake of simplicity ive called it interiors V2.0. It also includes all files from v1.0 so there is no need to install over the top of the old mod.

I have included the comprehensive readme pdf from interiors v1.0 since very little has changed.

Key commands remain the same and still include commands from DivingDucks open hatch (OH) mod.
SHIFT+F2 for free camera
SHIFT+E for dymanic free camera
SHIFT+H to open hatches
Ctrl+H to close hatches
SHIFT+O to raise observation scope
Ctrl+O to lower observation scope

As with interiors V1.0, the system requirements are higher than the stock game.
For a steady 60fps i would recommend a minimum spec of:
Win7 64bit
8Gb system ram
Any modern dx10/11 card with 1Gb ram or more.
Additionally the use of the 4Gb patch is STRONGLY advised.

Changes in v2.0
Added forward torpedo room
fixed forward crew quarters (no more corner sofa)
added static crew
added collisions, prevents free camera from floating outside the interiors.
tweaked diesel sounds

Still to come,
aft torpedo room!

Feel free to modify as you see fit!
Happy modding!

In addition to the credits from the original interiors (see pdf),
this mod also uses textures from the Das Boot crew clothes mod, it is listed as author unknown in the subsim downloads section, however i have a feeling it may have been by Fubar.

anyone know how to install the interior mod 2.1 with gwx gold?

i assume its with Jgsme or what ever it is, lol....

Yes the JSGME is the way to do it. You will need the 4GB patch.

briefly, what steps do i do to install the 4GB patch with gwx?

HW3
03-15-13, 04:00 PM
Unzip the file
If you have the original version of the sim patched with the nocd files, you run the reloaded version batch file.
If you have a later version of the sim that was Starforce free, you run that version of the batch file.
Once the batch file has run, you're all set to go.
The batch file patches your SH3.exe to tell your computer to use more than 2GB of memory to run the sim.

Hi, I'm not sure, if this is the right thread BUT it is regarding the "Flakmonkey's Twisty Periscope for Type VII"-Mod:

This mod will only work, when I install it ontop of other mods. However, when I do, the " FM30_UpDown_final" and the "GWX_DFa-Flag&Pens_2010" won't work anymore. Also, the Radio Direction Finder is always extended and turning and can not be retracted.

Is there perhaps, a workaround or a "Combo"-Mod available?

Thanks and best regards!

nope :dead: two years ago I was a sh3 player. Not anymore. Lots of cool mods out there but Mods soup is time consuming: Don't have time, RL more important. I could only play, I don't have time to mod even if I have some skills. Community does not seem to be able to make a brand new Megamod that bundles together all major improvements since other megamods. 'The' hope was HAHD project but will probably be released after I am dead. Sorry herr Kaleun, can't help.
