Hi everyone!

This is my 2nd mod. This mod adds for eg. dining place, food and toilets to U-boot. It just makes imho SH5 game more real...

Features:



In quarter room (there are Hidro and Sonar) there's a dining place - like in "Das Boot" with swinging lamp :up:
New, with great textures ENIGMA
In back quarter room great toilet ( :) )
There's new toilet in forward quarter room (you can go there...)
new captain's bed (texture & mesh)
new collisions in quarter room [forward & back] (you can sit in captain's dinning place and go to toilet)
new crates with food in CR
improved beds for crew in QR [forward]
Swinging salami in forward quarter room
There are 2 crew's bags

I have BIG problem: I don't know, what should I add in next versions. Please tell me, what do you want to see in U-boat's interior .

hi i would like to see six crew in torpedo room or the extra crew spread out in the sub not crowding the kitchen,or a full crew would be better , how about getting the hatch to open in kitchen it does get highlighted when cursor is clicked on it , anyway something to think about merry xmas:salute:

Yep.. I lost a lot of time when downloading it from dropbox.. constant disconnects..

Would be nice to see the updated forward torpedo room. Not only is there little people, so also very spacious.:yep: As if the boat had to patrol for 2-3 months, and all provisions have long run out! :D

Great work! On my system the ladder behind the cook is pure white, no texture. Also the door to the toilet is pure white and cannot be entered. The wardroom table area, boxes on deck all fine. The clipboard in radio room is flipping pages constantly.

Otherwise great mod, the officers mess is a great addition as is the Enigma machine. I also like the way the captains curtain swings, can you do the same with the light above the officers table? :rock:

BTW, after watching again your screenies, I think I will have to remove the rope/chain closing the bags, since they are already included in the meshes as 3d objects, and probably I will have to move the eyelets (metal rings) to match the position of the 3d ropes.

Talking about those ropes, can you change their texture to a proper one? Currently they use the same canvas texture as the rest of the bag... :hmmm:

Have tested your mod in my modsoup and with the exception of the page flickering on the clipboard in the radio compartment, everything seems to work fine.
Now we just need a new sound, when we flush the toilet :D

This mod has real potential, I for one think the mess area is a great idea.

Have you tried to strip the mod down into small parts and install and test one at a time? Say the captains cabin or radio room modifications first, test, then if ok add something else say the officers mess and so on. Worth a try :hmm2:

Ok, just tested v1.2 and all the graphics glitches I had before have gone. The boat is looking great now :up:

Only thing's I noticed was I can't go to the forward head, can't get through the door :/\\!! did you still incorporate this into your mod?

And I still have the runtime error bug, when you close the game it makes a "bong" sound and locks up, only way around it is to Ctrl-Alt-Del then esc to close the runtime error box.

I wonder if Sober has this with his mod list?

Anyway, GREAT work mate :salute:

If you can get the runtime error thing sorted for v1.3 you have a winner here.

Forward head....It's the door to the left just before you enter the forward torpedo room where I've been looking, is this the right one?

There'll awful lot of food in our boat - in high quality - but easy, worse computer will to support my mod :yep:. And, your screenshots are corrupted - you probably have to change your resolution ( I also have this problem...)

Change their file format to .jpeg using using Paint, by saving them as such, which you can open from Windows Photo Gallery. Then upload them to Imageshack or some other photo sharing site, and post their forum link here :up:

Well, sometimes beta versions are released as patches of the previous main versions. Michael had been previously asked whether v 1.2 required to be enabled on top of v 1.0, hence his "preventive" clarification about this new version :)

I know how to solve bug with runtime error (when exiting game). If you have this bug, you should deactivate my mod, then delete "Library" folder from my mod (not from game!!!), and then activate mod - game should works in 100% :Kaleun_Thumbs_Up:.

Just make sure to get in touch with him too before you decide to give it a go... having 3 different type II subs in SH5 would be awesome, but I would rather prefer having one of them in half the time :haha:

Thats right , the bowl is a seperate object and i just linked the pendulum controller to it in the sim file .

No, we can't create new object (only TDW know how to do it...) - now we have to merge existing meshes, but I know that creating new mesh is possible.

On a side note, yesterday I've thought of a possible workaround for the swinging objects issue. They need to be separate objects, for us to be able giving each of them an obj_pendulum controller, but currently we can't add new meshes/objects to a GR2, right?

So, what about...

1. duplicating an existing GR2; one with many little objects in it, like guns_radars_01.GR2, for instance.

2. Renaming and replacing the existing meshes with new ones, representing lamps, foods, etc. I think TDW's GR2 editor is already supporting it, and privateer is developping a tool that will ease the importation of obj meshes into a GR2. Notice that we won't be adding any new objects: just replacing the existing ones with different meshes.

3. Assigning each of the replaced objects an obj_pendulum controller, through the appropriate sim file.

4. Creating new bones into sub interior GR2's, where we want the swinging objects to be placed, and linking the new bones with the objects themselves (through their IDs). Again, I think this is already perfectly feasible with TDW's GR2 editor.

What do you think? Is this enough for keeping you busy during your winter holydays? :D

Hi modders!

I have small problem with duplicating GR2 files: we know that to merge 1st GR2 to 2nd GR2, we need *.prt files. And I have a problem: For eg. DER room & CR room have own PRT files. QR2 & GR1 haven't got this files (PRT). And I tried to create new PRT files for QR1, and there's a problem: Game can't see my new file! I did is as this:

1. I copied "Room_DER.prt" file, then I renamed it into "Room_QR1.prt"
2. I changed GR2 file to merge in Goblin app

So, is there any way to "tell" SH5 that he must see new PRT file? I have no idea :shifty:. Maybe some ID :06: Please, help me :yep:.

Would it be possible to tie the flooding from damage with a new interior like this, but with the crates scattered and broken to show the hectic and boneratteling force of thedepth charge.

I mean, have the interior look as it oes now, then once **** hits the fan and the ship starts flooding, if you could make the boxes and crates be scattered all over as if they fell over due to damage?

It would add a lot of realism.:huh: not that your mod needs much more. I'd still like to know how the hell you pulled this off when a lot of guys have tried and failed. Hats off and a big salute to you.

Thats my all time favourite FX request as well! Can't remember if SH 3 had it, but SH 4 has a great "blackout" moment when depth charges exploded nearby. A simple effect, but it really makes you jump out of the chair. Yes, it would be a great addition to FX Update mod, but I don't complain if somebody else does it! :D

I've just a basic experience of the GR2 format. Without doubt I know lesser than you. Nonetheless, here is my answer:

...the game "calls" objects by their unique Id's. If two objects had the same Id, they would be dealed with as if they were one object.

This I know for sure. Take the rest of my answer with a pinch of salt:

if I wanted to attach an object on top on another object, I would create a bone on the first object (where I wanted the origin of the second object to be placed) and I would give the bone and the second object the same Id.

Regarding names and Id's, I suggest you to read the answers to a question I posed in the "How to use TheDarkWraith .GR2 Editor" thread. Here:

Then I found your interior mod, last one I checked, was causing CTDs and Error reports installed after SteelViking's mod. Once I removed yours all was well. Somehow it isn't compatible with his on my computer.

I guess I should have tried leaving yours in and removing SteelViking's to see what would have happened. Unfortunately I didn't do that. :/\\!!

I wonder, is it possible you and SteelViking could merge both of your mods into one? Like doing an Interior Super Mod.

Ahhh, I see Bart isn't using SteelVikings interior mod and your mod Michal is working ok. That's good news.

As for my error it's one from Microsoft that only says Problems found with running this program... It says either Send Error report or Don't send. Actually it's not really a CTD, SH5 just locks up and you can't do anything to get out of SH5 but Reset to restart the computer. All you see is the mouse arrow in certain sections of the screen. You can End Task or anything esle to end SH5.

Michal, if SteelViking will do it, still keep separate mods for those that only want to use either his or yours. A merging of both mods can be an alternative choice to use if someone wants to go that route. ;)

Not sure if you have tried this but did you read post 104 on this thread? Maybe this is causing some confliction in the game with another mod?, anyway worth a try, and hope this helps.

It's been a while since I've frequented these forums, but I was just dropping in to see how things were going. I must say, this mod looks amazing. You guys accomplished a lot of things that I was trying to do when I stopped working on SH5. Congratulations!

Please feel free to use anything from my mods! I do ask that you cite me, and all contributors to my mods as we did spend many hours to make them.

I will check in over the next several days to try and answer any questions you may have regarding my mods so that you can properly merge them.

The actual file, Silentmichal interior mod, doesn't seem to do anything without the hotfix, and then with the hotfix, I get the texture problem, and no food showing up in the control room.

It seems you are using wrong version :hmmm:

a couple of suggestions, not related with your map issue though:

- Armaments & equipment patch v 0.2 includes previous versions; since you enabled it, you don't need v0 and v0.1;
- increase even more blah blah ... was just a test mod, and it was based on a wrong interpretation of guns' parameters. I suggest you to disable it. ;)

I had the same problem as you, with the NavMap not showing in the Zentralle, when I used only the new interior mod. When I loaded SteelViking's interior first, then the new mod by Silentmichal, things returned to normal. I installed them in the following order, and everything is alright:

Yes, of course it is :yep:! If you don't want to have food crates in your command room, let's delete file "Room_CR.gr2" from my mod: data/Submarine/Common/Rooms/*.*

About finding the ID's of cloned GR2 items (for assigning controllers to new objects), this the is the trick:

I'm not sure but it could be a problem with lower end computers not having enough memory and powerful enough CPU to keep up, and possibly GFXs cards could be a part of the problem too.

Once I switch campaigns I'm going to try Silentmichal's mod.

Does this project also give us hope for more playable subs/surface ships seen as someone has managed to substantially alter the physical nature of the ship? I recall people were having trouble with this sort of thing (I think there was another thread devoted to the making of a wardroom and it was deemed too difficult).

This question was answered long time ago in the SHIII forum, was not abble to find the relative thread, but on top of memory, the modder defines crates as equipment, and then played with the dates, remplacing them gradually during the campaign.
With the new script model, you could certainly be even better and tied them to the patrol, not the campaign.

I only have one little glitch : the ladder to go to the conning tower is totally black with some stain of red...texture pb? nvidia card?

About food quantities reduction, i remember that the Sh3's equivalent mod (can't remember who did it :wah:) linked fuel consumption with food quantities.

I'm so excited and glad... I CLONED GR2 file:woot: and now it WORKS :up:!!! So... what can I do now? For eg.:

- add awful lot of new things :yep:,
- There's no limit of objects in room (only hardware restriction),
- Maybe I will able to add swinging food and lamps,
- delete Runtime 650 bug (!).


I want to say only one thing: my friends, I made it because you helped me really a lot:sunny:. Thank You guys. Thank you :yeah:!!!
