Moin:
I hope this is a simple question:
I am trying to use Aces combined Sh3.SDL Files mod, but regretfuly in the enclosed readme file I find that the RBīs SH4 Effects for SH3 V7.1 has not been included.
Now, Iīve been trying to figure out how to open this file, but I canīt.
Could anybody please advice on what prog should I use to do this?
Thanks a lot for your cooperation

Thanks a lot, AVH, but I tried opening it with S3d, but looks like the .SDL format is not supported by it.... :hmmm:

That's the program I open it with.:yep:

edit: I think I had to tell windows to use it to open it the first time.

then, what am I doing wrong?.... :hmmm:
to begin with, I am just trying to explore the file and see what is all that about and then try to make it work for my mods, but I can't open it... :/\\!!

Click on the SDL file, when windows says it can't open it, and asks which program you want to open it with, point it at S3D. It should then open.

I just did that, but, S3d opens, and there is an error msg. :/\\!!

What does the error message say?

S3D does require Microsoft NET 2.0 or higher and DirectX 9.0c (Managed) to work properly according to the readme.

Sorry for the delay in my reply, I had tons of things to take care of, before xmas.... :yep:
Ok, first, I noticed that the format .SDL is not in the list of extensions that S3D can ahndle, I see .DAT, .ZON, .SIM, .CAM, .DSD, but there is no .SDL extension.
The msg that appears when I try to open the SH3.SDL file is:
''System.ArgumentException: Unexpected Header in stream.
''Parameter Name: stream in skwas.IO.Stream Progress Reporter.a(ObjectA_0,DoWorkEventArgs A_1)
Any ideas?
BTW, I have Microsoft NET 4.0 and the DirectX installed.
Thanks for your help with this...

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Why do I need to install DirectX 9.0c again? I already have it.
A: S3D requires DirectX 9.0c with Managed Extensions installed. Chances are you have got a subset of DirectX 9.0c installed, and not the entire package.
