He's not insane or stupid; just young. And that's no crime. Trying juvenile humor on adults, however, can make you look that way.

I was going to say something similar back when the thread was started, but then people would be all 'oh there's mean old Takeda ruining everybody's fun again'. So, I sat back and let the thread run it's inevitable course.

Now I'll say that I think this thread is a bad idea.

Humor is fine, but trading insults? Come on, someone was bound to get their feelings hurt; there was no other way that this thread could have ended. Most of us don't know each other all that well, and we're not sitting in a room together where we can read each other's facial expressions and body language. Text-based discourse is devoid of those nuances, and that tends to make normal every day ribbing look far more pointed than one may intend.

You know what guys? This is just plain stupid. Subsim is supposed to be a forum where people can get along. When viewed in that light, this thread is, frankly, a disgusting abomination. For God's sake, one person got so annoyed that he insulted somebody over their age, and that person then felt horrible. So,

Actually, I never felt horrible. That was a response calculated to make RO feel bad (for which I apologize, by the way).

You need to stop posting in giant letters and trying to give orders. You're new here, and don't really know the way we work. Insults are fine, as long as the spirit of them stays pure.

Here is a good general insult I heard once in middle school if you had HBO back in 1980s where before each movie they had that little epic HBO sequence where the camera went over the little model town and the old HBO music played this little bit if you are too young..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syxlMJEs2EE

My mother was no saint, not by a long shot, but she gave me my sense of humor (well, my dad had a hand as well). She made me the butt of one of the funniest insults ever, and I thank her for it to this day.

I've told the story before, but here it is again.

It was the summer of 1968. I was staying with my mom and her third husband. He gave me permission to put up dozens of posters on my bedroom wall. I had pictures of planes and cars, and rock stars. One of them was a full-face portrait of Jimi Hendrix. My mom had recently joined the local Eagles lodge, and two old biddy hens decided to snoop around and see if mom's house was clean enough for them. When they got to my room they looked around disapprovingly at all the pictures. One of them saw Jimi. Her jaw dropped and she said "Who? Is? THAT???" (you have to remember that the '60s were still quite racist, especially in places like Utah)

I was about to explain all about Jimi Hendrix, Rock God exraordinaire (especially to an 18-year-old budding guitar player), but I barely had my mouth open when mom said "Oh, that's Steve's half brother. We don't talk about him in our side of the family."

They gasped and were out the door so fast it made my head spin. I still laugh about it 44 years later.
