Well, I started off thinking I would just do a simple graphical overhaul of the interface and menus in game... nothing big, being this was going to be the first mod I have ever released. Looks like things changed!

I will be going a bit bigger then i thought... Im starting now with a few things, and im feeling like this is just going to keep growing..



The first thing I did was concerning the Crew placement and compartments within the subs, I did this for 2 reasons. 1) As others have done and said, you need space to move the deck watch crew inside while being attacked so they dont get injured; also 2) I wanted to try to simulate a VERY generalized layout of fleetboats.... This is what its looking like so far..

Narwhal, Tambor, Gar, Gato, Balao and Tench are laid out like this now

Porpoise, Salmon and Sargo have 1 less column of Fore torpedo crew slots...

S-Class are laid out like this

As you can see I have a "Crew\Mess" area and "Officers" area... Neither compartment is active and gives no bonus.... The battery banks are also located in these spaces now.

Other things I have changed..... No more full officer roster starting out, just my personal taste... I also made it so that your starting rookie crew isnt maxing out all the compartments to high efficiency, also my own personal taste.



The other thing I started and I am now working on is trying to overhaul the deck guns and small arms.... Ive slowed the traverse and reload to reflect documentation on these guns, there is only so much you can do with this game though so its not spot on realistic... Ive also put more detail into the names and descriptions....

as you can see the all weapons will reflect the "mk" and type to the best of my knowledge....

I have many more things planned, all with compatible versions to go along with most super mods..... The original intent is what I will be getting to next, redone GUI and menus, reconfigured orders bar, new scope masks and backgrounds.. etc

I would really like to thank the entire SH4 modding community and subsim! This is inspired by many great mods and modders... TMO, RFB, FOTRS, RSRDC and OpMon gave me so many great ideas and a way to work through them, this is just a humble offering of my own flavor. A bit of garlic if you will :yeah:

In the damage control does this affect the time or the ability to fix these areas once damaged. Being the batteries on topic here?

I like the idea of more room to move the crew around for max damage control or safety during depth charges.

Thanks :).... As for the batteries and bulkheads in the 2 new areas, they will damage and repair just as any other piece of equipment... just new placement.

eh... ran into a little snag with the crew only showing one man on the bow deck gun sometimes.... going to sort that out once i figure out what i did and then i will upload the first mod which will include the tweaked and re-informationized deck gunss, aa guns, and radar.... also it will have the crew compartment tweaks and configuration along with some other submarine specific tweaks..... I will try to upload a pack for stock as well as each of the supermods and of course i will provide much more detail and depth about what is actually included in the mod upon release. Figure a couple days at the very most.
