View Full Version : Creating a Shortcut - entry query
I want to create a shortcut key to set speed to 9 kts. How would I word that entry?
Thanks in advance!!
Adjust the NSS_Gato.cfg file for the boat(s) you want.
Data\Submarine\NSS_Gato - for example is where the GATO class is found. Pick your boat(s)
The section in the NSS_Gato.cfg file for example looks something like this:
[EngineProperties]
AllStop=0.00
AheadSlow=0.25
AheadOneThird=0.50
AheadStandard=0.75
AheadFull=0.90
AheadFlank=1.00
BackSlow=-0.26
BackStandard=-0.40
BackFull=-0.53
BackEmergency=-0.66
or this, Stock:
[EngineProperties]
AllStop=0.00
AheadSlow=0.40
AheadOneThird=0.57
AheadStandard=0.80
AheadFull=0.94
AheadFlank=1.00
BackSlow=-0.26
BackStandard=-0.40
BackFull=-0.53
BackEmergency=-0.66
I forget what 9 kts is because I use a different, more realistic (in my opinion) Standard speed, but play around with the percent and you'll get it. I think it is just below 0.50 in Stock - maybe 0.43 or 0.46 (??) - The above is Stock and my first entry is my personal modded speed settings - with a whole lot of additional edits to various files that allow realistic fuel/range etc.
I learned about this realistic surface and submerged speeds and ranges from reading the Great, Ducimus' posts a year or two ago, and some adjustments on my own.
Another way is to just click 9 kts on the knotmeter on the HUD
------------
If you mean the wording of the Order itself, that would be entirely different...........
Happy Hunting!
