Inporting AI subs from SHIV is not that easy and, before you ask it, new playable submarines are no yet possible. :)
But, despite some technical limitations, there is already a good number of ships, guns, airplanes and environmental units ported from SHIII/IV to SH5. :up:
You might want to have a look at these excellent mods: Open Horizons II (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1791496&postcount=1) and Mehr Traffic, Nationen und Schiffe (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1652560&postcount=1) ;)

thanks, is there an tutorial for ship importation? new playable submarines are no yet possible. does this have anything to do with the drm or the way the game is set up to track payer records?

nah, I'm pretty sure that there is at least one person who definitely can do even the playable units :hmm2:

It's just as I said in another thread - I don't believe SH5 yet deserves an 'easy win' button :dead:

Stealing the answer from TDW:
The GR2 Editor/Viewer is not complete yet and thus we are still unable to create new GR2 files from scratch and we are still unable to add/remove geometry to/from GR2 files (the current test version being used by testers allows geomtry to be changed though). Once I complete it everything will be possible.
Now that doesn't mean that one will be able to add new playable subs into the game. That will require an exe patch so that the game knows about these new subs :yep: And that will take time to do....lots of time :dead:
