I've been away from SH3 for several years. I scanned some of the stuff people have submitted during my absence and felt my heart flutter. My question is simple. Have the realism mods been set up yet so you can retain behavior and features that make the sim personally enjoyable to you (for example, contacts on the map indicating course at time of detection) or is it still an all or nothing situation?

I like the sim to be as realistic as I personally like if that makes sense. Some of the supermods are so realistic the price paid is to be bored and frustrated waiting for something to happen. I realize this was likely what it was like for the real U-boat crews much of the time but I don't need to experience it.

I also realize there are many different mods I can piece together to fashion the sim to my liking but often they don't have features that the supermods do for obvious reasons. Anyway, I thought I would ask.

There are other small mods that let you put the tails back on the contacts. Pretty much every taste has been accounted for by some mod or other.

Thanks...looks like I'll just have to spend some time with the various mods and put together what suits me as best I can.
