If you post a screenshot showing the icons that you want to get rid of, maybe someone will be able to help you, and as we are here I have suggestion for you, if you don't mind:
spamming the forum with multiple threads on the same issue will not help you getting a faster answer :yep:

Using TDW's UI might help. I think there's an option in his options file under data\scripts\menu that lets you change that.
using that cant see a options file? dials ,mods and text is all i see.

Well, there's definitely supposed to be a TDWUserOptions.py file in the location I mentioned. I don't know if there actually is the option to remove those things on top. Try activating the UI mod as-is, and then see if it gets removed.
must be a way to do this?

Better not to edit that file manually, or you will mess it up. :yep:
There's an option editor under main mod folder, path /data/Applications/OptionsFileEditorViewer, that you should run after unzipping the mod onto your MODS folder, and before enabling it with JSGME.

That's true, it's probably best to follow gap's advice. I usually change the options manually, for some reason I've grown used to doing it that way.:D

Well that is what we all were used to do before TDW introduced the Option Editor, and by doing it we all messed things up at least once during our SH5 career. isn't it :D

To think that some are complaining about all the troubles they are facing for getting the game to work: they don't know that those troubles are the real challenge of the game.
Without them this title would loose its appeal :haha:

:agree:
In other games I spend no more than 2 weeks.
Here I've already 7 months
I am just trying to get it the way i like it Gap.Iappreciate the time and effort the modders go throughas this game is unplayable without it.

Yep, premising that I am not paid by Ubisoft to minimize their mistakes, :D
...modding this game is like having to craft your toy before being actually able to play with it, as opposed to go buying a plastic made, ready to use game that you will get tired of after a few hours.
Having to "prepare" it, induces you to read, to think, to dream of it as you would like it to be. You learn to have patience and to appreciate any minimal detail, knowing that it costed many hours of hard job, by you and by many more people.
Really enjoying it is an award for the ones who deserved it not, with all the due respect, for the fastfood lovers. :03:

I am sure you will find the option that you are looking for there.
There are options for customizing almost every aspect of the UI
