Of course..... tracking and sinking merchants and cruisers with a few salvo of torpedoes are satisfying...
but over time... seeing the same duds and explosion over and over again do remind me of something..
Don't they have torpedoes net ?
Remember?
The cruiser Pallada and the battleships Tsesarevich and Retvisan??
Their torpedo nets saved them... not faulty torpedoes or their armor
Just as a suggestion
Maybe.. someone could write a mod for such nets?:shucks:

I know theres torp nets at some ports, but I dont think any were attached to ships in the pacific? I dont see how a torp net would work on a ship, perhaps I shall have to look at those ships you listed.

Torpedo nets were considered obsolete during WWII, at least on ships out at sea. In harbors they were often employed if there was any risk of sub attacks. Especially mini-sub attacks. The Tirpitz was always surrounded by nets while she was in Norway, not that it did her any good.

Some torpedoes-during the Russo-Japanese war period even had net cutters. To lazy to look for it. But you can GOOGLE it.
German High Seas Fleet considered torpedo nets attached to ships a pain in the a##. Just so much stuff to cut away if damaged by shellfire-they could foul the propellers. I know some memoir from a gunnery officer on the Derfflingler wrote of this. And photos of the nets damaged on this ship after Jutland bear this out.
