Hi Everyone,
I've managed to sink a Bogue Escort Carrier two times (on different missions). Each time I have saved the game, on reload, CTD. WTF? :/\\!! Any idea what I should be looking for? I'm using GWX, and the only mod that I have that affects the Bogue is Racerboy/TDW's SH4 effects for SH3. Any ideas what I should be looking for? It's kind of annoying to get that big warship tonnage only to have it negated by a CTD.
Thanx in advance.
This is one of the Ancient Problems!:know:
You must NOT save the game while you are submerged; being hunted; being DC'ed or otherwise engaged and/or near a convoy.
Same applies for saving before you try something heroic, like engaging a carrier!
It's an old game-engine bug. Nothing to do with the Mega-mod.
You must make sure that there is nothing within rendering range of your Boot when you attempt a save.
Be surfaced, make sure you're not near land or other units. And things should work out.
A pain in the Bum for sure, but also something to keep you on your toes when you enter a dangerous situation!
Cheers! :woot:

Actually, I know all of those rules, and I was well out of the area when I saved the game in both cases.
So either something was nearby and I didn't know it, or this isn't the case.
I'm not implying that it was the mega mod, I'm just wondering if there is anything else I should be looking for. Every once in a while, I just get CTD's. As far as I knew, I was out of visual range of everything, but it could be one of those things where the destroyers hunting me stayed so long that they continued on at the task force pace instead of steaming full speed to catch up with where the task force should be. Either way, nothing was in visual range for sure.
Well if you took care to avoid the saving-bug, then I'm not sure what else might cause this!:06:
The SH4 effect's mod is not that prone to crashing!

I don't bother trying to save games @ sea anymore, there are just too many ctd. That said, as long as I return to port and close the game down, I've never had a ctd as long as the game starts with me in port. Bottom line is avoid saving the game while @ sea and you should be ok.
