View Full Version : What values controll a ships roll when hit by a torpedo?

I hacked a vessel from another mod into my SH4-when one torpedo hits it rolls a 3000+ ton vessel violently a whole 90 degrees-then it rights itself. I'd like to tone that down. Is there even a tutorial anywhere on the parameters in an SH4 Zon File?

musta been from RFB lol.
look into the sim file for it, i dont have access to my files right now but i think its the GC_Height or something like that
GC= gravitational center
too high it rols over, too low its sinks without leaning at all like quicksand

And sure enough that worked-see below at impact.
Changed the SIM values to 2.7 in gc_height and from 120 to 4000 for mass in unit_Ship value in SIM
And there was no roll. Earlier one torpedo would hit it was on beams end and ejected ALL Japanese personel from their nodes hahaha.
Sinks normal.
Using some oil carrier from the Russian Baltic mod [NOM_Ranger ship file]. I know I saw a maru in an ONI manual that looks similar to this Russian vessel. Swapped out weapons and personnel for Japanese and only kept the grey color. Easy except for the problem I posted.
Thanks again Webster.:up:
