RFB 2.0 crash-a-rama

Apologies if this has been addressed. I've searched around and found nothing so far.

I have tried to install RFB 2.0 in a variety of ways and I can't get it to work. No matter what I do, I start a new career and the game begins with the crew milling around. I can go to the map and set a course. But when I F4 or try to go to the bridge, it crashes immediately (never see the ocean). Half the time, when it starts, the control graphics (direction, depth, etc) are all white blocks. Looks like missing graphics.

Here's what I've tried: (All produce same crash)
RFB alone
RFB w/ patch
RFB w/ patch + RSRD
RFB alone + RSRD

I reinstalled SH4 and tried RFB by itself. Same issue.

I deleted the MODS folder, d/led the mods over again, and tried again.

I've tried changing the graphics settings.

I've an AMD 64 4 core, Win 7, gforce 560, 4 gigs RAM, SH4+uboats from Steam.

Maybe try this little program, as it has stopped all the issues I had with CTDs

But I also have the original disk and U Boat add on from UBI too.
