I am currently using a Porpoise class Sub and I was wondering about skins for this Sub.

Did anybody model this type of skin with conning tower numbers?

I found this late war skin :Porpoise minor weathering (V1.0).
At what stage in the war should you use this?
I presume this one is early war:Porpoise black skin (V1.0)

ASFAIK all identification (hull numbers) were removed when the war started, so I don't know if any pre war skins were made. I'm pretty sure the mega mods include sub skins made by modders, but again not sure about skins with hull ID numbers.

there is another issue i read about concerning hull numbers and emblems, AFAIK the subs use one pattern and its placed as a negative or maybe a reversed image on the other side so one side will have backwards or unreadable numbers if they are put onto the skins.

also the hull has one skin and the towers use there own image so look in the "objects" folder to find the sub towers

Hull numbers no longer used after hostilities commence.
No point making it too easy for the Japs.

Black skin for early war then.

Check out the skins in the download section for SH4 here.

Some of them have hull numbers but no conning tower numbers.

The skins still look good though!
