My lord. England look like a football team.
My lord. England look like a football team.
I know, and if we win this it will be just in time to smash into the German brick wall :/\\!!

Go England! :yep:
First I would love to see the classical match Germany vs England on Thursday, then the Italian team is the most annoying one of all - the semi-finals 2006 are never forgotten :stare:
England needs to play the second half like just the first 10 minutes of the game.
Italy owns the game so far overall but the potential for England is there.

made me laugh
off of Twitter: Italy have now taken more shots than they did in the whole of WW2.

Yeah, Italy have come right back into it. Not that they were ever out of it, mind you. I think this one might go to extra time.
And now we're falling apart again. Well, it was a good ten minutes... :haha:

What a GAME !
One of the better ones for sure, and Italy dominated almost all of the time, against England.
England was very good with Rooney, but they just didn't get the hang of it. Certainly lots of bad luck before, with all those injuries ..
But Rooney and Ballotelli, very nice football !
Well, extra time ..

Penalties, again. We cannot, surely, go out again on them? :wah:

Italy really deserves that victory .. 25 score chances against .. 5 ?
Well penalties is pure luck ..
1:1 now, and Italy missed the last .. now Rooney

If England wins THAT game i'll never watch football again :hmph:

The English and penalties... :D
First half match on same eye level, very good, nice to watch. After that, England was picked apart. Italian victory is highly deserved.
Ball possession 67:33% :o Wowh.
Bad luck there lads. The old curse strikes again. Italy were the better team on balance through the game as well but England were pretty good at times.

Congrats to both ! This was a fair and exciting game.
Both were not able to score one hit in ordinary playing time - in the end it was luck, for Italy.

No 'old curse', England played to their world ranking (between 6th and 7th)....justice was done, the best team won.
To Jordan Henderson...give it up son your out of your league...terrible waste of £23 million.

 Congrats Italy, very convincing performance, and a good lesson for our youngsters!
Good effort England, out played comprehensively in the 2nd half, but never stopped fighting. All we could ask for and much more than we got in 2010.
Bring on the world cup and some more youngsters.

Sam.

I would have preferred England as opponent for the German team, of course. The German record again st Italy is a disaster. Seven times they met at international tournaments: 4 draws and 3 defeats. Since 17 years a German team has not defeated Italy in exhibition meetings.
If the strong German team of the present does not defeat the Italian team, then a German team will never defeat Italy at tournaments, not in a hundred years.
The only good news here is that the English assisted the Germans in playing the Italians a bit tired.

Germany should have little problem overcoming Italy but I don't expect an avalanche of goals.

Lost all interest now but I hope Spain, Portugal or Italy win
Lost all interest now
gee, why?:har:
Is it because of Ashley Y...I mean Ashley C....?:har:
Sorry...:)
I just hope the Germans steamrolls everybody.
England:nope:
The semi-finals:
"Portugal : Spain 1:0
Germany : Italy 3:1"
The match against Portugal was the hardest game for Germany in the tournament so far. Now, with that Ronaldo boy in good shape, Portugal is even stronger. Italy has problems scoring goals.
=> final: "Portugal:Germany"

Give your title probability estimates!
I say:
Germany 40%
Spain 30%
Portugal 15%
Italy 15%
Give your title probability estimates!

That is, quite literally, my favourite picture ever as of this moment. :har::har:
I see the Dutch coach has resigned. The only one so far, I think, which must be something of a record for a European Championship.
You can all go suck a nut or a lemon. We played, we went to the semi-finals. Penalties are a great lottery. Spain could do anything. I saw here every person saying that the other team would win, when talking about Portugal matches!
Ronaldo is a great player, maybe not great as some one or better that other, but it's a great one!

 Congrats to Spain, you made the final! I would suggest playing Torres for that match, he will bring you goals.
Congrats to Portugal for an excellent flexible approach to dealing with Spain for 90 minutes, it is only a shame Ronaldo is the only thoroughbred striker, and he misses too many for my liking. Otherwise for me, they looked better for the whole game.
Spain looked better only in extra time, yet still it went to a lottery.
Now can Italy stop the German Steamroller? :hmmm:
Either one can beat Spain I reckon.
Getting really sick of players being shot in the face every time an opponent brushes past them, the rules currently are tantamount to a cheaters charter.

What a lousy play by Spain....they should consider themselves lucky that they go to the finals but I'm confident that the Germans have them for Lunch after they had the Italians for breakfast.

I hope so, I was the only one in our betting pool to put down germany as the winner, the few euros from that and being able to rub my friends nose in it would be awesome :D
it's over for the Germans, I presume...:hmmm:

So the Italian curse stays loyal to Germany...
Congrats to Italy who deserved the win. They improved from match to match throughout the tournament, which is to be admired. They played like football needs to be played: the team runs like crazy and does what is needed to secure the win, and does so with lethal efficiency.
German again played beautiful in parts, had bad luck on some chances, but so had the Italians as well. I refuse to call it just bad luck that they lost. I complained earlier about the Germn team playing nciely but needing too many chances to score a goal, and this showed true today. They scored 9 goals in the tournament , but count that against the many mega chances they spoiled! Playing beautiful is not enough.
Löw did many things right, but also soem thigns wrong. Why Podolski was in the team is beyond me, in all matches he played extremely bad. Schweinsteiger I wouldn't have picked up, too: it is a tournament, and for a tournament you do not pick up players that are not fit and lack playin g practice. He played bad throughout the tournament as well. Khedira played well but not sensational, so did Özil - but the long awaited "explosions" of both players did not take place. Lahm did his duty, but nothing more. Boateng played reasonably well. Germany has a top goalie, Neuer belongs to the world class I think. The positive surprises were Reus and especially Mats Hummels whom I consider to be the most remarkable player in the German lineup. And the eternal dispute, Gomez. Fine, he shot three goals. But depsite the few times he shot on the goal, he was almost non-present, and that is too little in modern football. A team in football consist of 10 field players, not of 9 and one tenth players. And Klose: to be honest, I think his shining times in the national team are over. For the most I took note of him by reading his name in the end credits.
So a "well done" to Italy, they solved this match clever, strong and with determination - or should one say passione? Spain will not find an easy opponent in them. Possible that the next European champion will not be the Spaniards.

I do hope that the Italians play the same against Spain because if this is going to anything like Italy - England or Spain - Portugal game it'll be a painfull final. :dead:

The only final I could possibly dislike more would be spain v portugal, but italy comes close. Oh well, at least there is no urge to watch footie on sunday and can spend that doing something productive.

Congratulations to Spain and Italy.
Looking at the way the semi finals panned out I wouldn't lke to predict the final result.
Personally I'd like to see Spain win.
This was dreadful by Germany. The Italian coach is a clever tactician which Löw is not. Easy win for Italy.
Balotelli:salute:
Cassano and Balotelli vs. Spain. This will be interesting.

Great comment - in German language - on the Italian-German match which imo is spot on, focussing on Balotelli, and the civilised delicateness of German players.

He has a point there.
I'm with Italy in the final. And the dark warrior.
Well, that was a nice goal. Spain deserve to be in the lead. The Italian defence just seems a yard off the pace so far.*

This match first and foremost proves one thing, and that is that I do not understand one bit of football. :haha:
Congrats Spain! 4:0 may not be deserved in that height of a result, the Italians had bad luck with that guy injuring himself after 4 minutes, but even with him I think they would not have had a chance to turn the match around. Italy did what it can, and that was good, but not good enough.
