View Full Version : Question/ Multiple Flak Guns

I'm working with two flak guns on board. I'm trying to find out if my Officer Commands from the pics on the bottom of my screen work as they did in SH3(using TDW's UI w' the SH5 style HUD) .
I tried to order a deck gun attack on my last patrol using the orders bar from the Officers Pics and I got no reaction from the Deck gun crew until I used my Binocs and the Space bar. I hope I'm making this clear. If I get attacked (IF) by air, I want the two guns to fire at independent targets and not both firing at one Plane whilst the other sinks by boat. So if I use the firing orders from the Officer pics, do they work?:hmmm:
Even so, how do I give independent orders to each gun?:06::hmmm:

As I recall, there are a few other parameters you can set in that same tab, like what range to engage, and fire on all/only closing targets. Make sure you have those set to your situation as well.

Yeah, I'm looking at those same controls. They are basically the same ones from SH3, and yes, you can order close range or far range targets, Fire at will and so forth.
But, like I mentioned, on my last patrol (and this was just with the deck gun), I wasn't on the bridge when I ordered the deck gun crew to action. So I used those same buttons to order the deck gun to fire at will. Nothing happened. Till I got to the bridge, then before the tanker could spot us I used the Binocs and then the deck gun started to fire. I dunno', maybe I did something wrong, I'm sure I ordered the crew to stations but maybe I just thought I did. I'm also sure I was using the right controls.
Now, I have two flak guns. I want to make sure that these two guns are firing at separate targets, so I expected to see more controls or verbal orders when I upgraded, but all I see is orders/controls for flak gun. Sounds singular. I am going to try to load up my current boat in a practice mission and see how they perform. Maybe that'll do the trick.
