hey, I know I am not Jimbuna but as far as I know the problem is caused by having the resolution fix installed and using a resolution other than 1024x768. Try setting the resolution in d3d9.cfg to 1024x768.

Well he was pretty close to the mark....it's the resolution fix that causes the problem, not the resolution.

My system/ME is running fine at 1680x1050

The SH3 Mission Editor does work best at resolutions of 1280 x 1024 and higher. For whatever reason, even the modded version, Sh3MissionEditor2.exe, just won't fit on screens where the vertical res is lower than 1280. It's an annoying bug. Maybe one of the resident hex wizards could fix that while also making the ME compatible with the Hi-Res mod? Then again, it might be just as easy to code a new editor from scratch.

There is a .bat file you can download around here somewhere, called Sh3MissionEdit.bat, I think. It's a simple Windows batch script that disables the Hi-Res mod, starts the ME, and then restores everything back when you're done making your mission. I know for sure h.sie has it at his Mediafire page. You'll find the link in his sig of any post he's made or just go to his Hardcoded Fixes thread.

Some aspects can be adjusted with Resource hacker.
The 3D window is a different story however.

The 3D window is what is screwing up with the Res fix.
That goes through the kernal.dll to the d3d9.dll

I've traced it that far to see if we can adjust things for a universal fix.

I wish you great success in finding the solution. Mission designers from the dim mists of antiquity to the shining horizon of the future will sing a chorus of your praise.

It is surprising that, after all these years, there is still much polishing left for this diamond in the rough we call SH3. It's too bad Danger From The Deep hasn't enjoyed such an armada of talent and dedication for as long.

Where is the d3d9.cfg? I don't seem to have one.

You need to have the hi-res mod.
