[REL] SH3 Cleaner 4.0 for DVD Edition on Win32 [XP, Vista, Win7]

This little tool is an update of the SH3 Cleaner 3.0 for EMEA DVD on WinXP (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=1653910#post1653910).

It's useful if you get trouble to reinstall SH3 or if you missed to do a backup of the vanilla SH3 installation and now you want to install additional copies of SH3 [e.g. for use of Potoroo's MultiSH3 (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=1869)] for different big mods like GWX, NYGM etc.

Nearly all unnecessary registry entries, folders and files done by the InstallShield Wizard [on EMEA & US DVD] during installation are removed. Installation folder and save game folder of SH3 are not affected!

For proper performance you've to execute it with admin rights!

But not only reg entries; unnecessary folders and files,too.

... and/or could CCleaner not do the same?I don't think that CCleaner would do it if SH3 is still installed.

...So what's the idea or aim?...Installation of additional copies of SH3 if your existing installation is already heavy modded and you don't have a vanilla copy of SH3.
Or sometimes the installer refuses the installation of SH3 since a former installation wasn't uninstalled correctly.

...Is it also removing SF-entries then? ...Up to v4.0 this function was included but I removed it since it isn't compatible to Win8.

O no, mate. I'm not a programmer.

The job I did for SH3 Cleaner is very simple. Some time ago I described it in this (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=904140#post904140) thread. In meantime some items were added.

Some time ago I had a problem re-installing SH3 and traced it down to an InstallShield Wizard registry key which blocked additional installs. Since I was heavily into modeling (?moding) this was a great problem and it must have taken me an hundred hours to track it down.:/\\!!
I can see a real need for this SH3 cleaner. I wish I had had it then. :sunny:
