Is this a possibility in SH3?? I recently had a game with a destroyed conning tower i.e all system in the conning tower were gone. I couldnt use radio, periscopes, rader, etc.. Well it didnt matter because shortly after i escaped that terrible depth charge i was blown up by a plane :(.
Somebody modded this in the SH4 forums. Dunno if its even possible to bring destroyed equipment back to maybe 20% or just damaged but not fully repaired

You can set every piece of equipment to destroyable or not.Don't know if you can then have it so that its only %20percent fixable though.
For me I love destroyed equipment aspect.I have my enemy AI set even harder so they fire faster and are alot more accurate.Funniest one was a destroyed front dive plane.:rotfl2: Planes though still are unrealistic. They were horrible with probably a 25% chance of destroying you.Right now you spot a plane and you just dive with no worries since the planes seem to circle you then make there attack.Would love to see planes the death scene they were where you crash dive and use evasive manuever and pray.:arrgh!:

Just wanna add that I spent past 3 hours evading 3 DD in the channel.I have Stieblers ASDIC mod installed(dont know if its working properly though)and the DD's would not stop.I was trying my hardest to get to deeper water as there was a deep blue spot a few hours way.I noticed the depth slowly getting deeper and that gave comfort.Constant flank/silent w/direction changes.
I did that in real time and it was probably the best SH3 experience I ever had.:woot:Silent running to flank speed constantly and repairing damage as it came. Finally I lost them and so I spent next few hours at 32 TC(I think this is great for immersion as it makes you "feel" the amount of time to repair) to fix what damage I had.First the pumps, then the batteries and finally the diesel engine I still had intact. When it was finally fixed I orderd ahead standard but sub stood still.Come to find my gas tank had been destroyed.:rotfl2:Great stuff!!
Just had to post that as I believe real damage is great for gameplay.:salute:
