silent hunter 3 for vista

i bought a silent hunter 3 for vista from startegic simulations on amazon.

it works fine, but there is no version number on the opening screen below the porthole there.

tried adding the 1.4 patch and get error message.

game works fine, have been able to add silent hunter commander and some mods.

but not able to patch.

asked amazon vender and no answer

no documentaion came with the game, so guessing i have original, but need to find a way to patch it up.

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

STARTING POINTS ARE IN HARBORS, SO GUESSING I HAVE ORGINAL VERSION.

BUT IT RUNS.

THE OTHER SILENT HUNTER 3 I HAD WAS STARFORCE PROTECTED.

Hi,

I suppose that your game is already patched with v1.4.

Check your SH3.EXE property. I bought 2 months ago SH3. It had no starforce (w7-64 and vista64 compatibility) and serial number ant it is in v1.4.

Load the game. While it's loading a version number will appear on the screen. As jean74 stated it is almost certainly a newer version already at 1.4, so it won't accept the patch a second time.
