Tower markings ?

I was wondering, Is there a way to add say some artwork to your conningtower in this game ?
If so could some one please explain it ?

There's an extensive list of subs with tower artwork available over here (http://www.battleflags.us/). Grab the one you like and install it with JSGME.
If you want to try your hand on it, the files you need to modify are in the Data\Textures\Tnormal\tex folder. Look for NSS_SubmarinetypeTower_T01 and T02 (where Submarinetype=Gato, Tambor, etc).

Ok I tryed to open this file with PhotoShop
It wouldn't open?
Is there a program I can use to get the tower to show so I can Add my markings ?
I can do skins for IL-2 but have never tryed one of these?

Yes, the files are in .dds format. There's a plug-in for Photoshop that allows manipulation of this format, but I've been using Dxtbmp for years. It's a freeware program available here (http://www.btinternet.com/%7Emnwright/programs/dxtbmp.htm)
