GWX screenshot request

Hello SUBSIM,

I need your help. I'm currently writing a master thesis about history and world war II video games and in one chapter I focus on mods. I used GWX as a subject of research, which worked just fine.
My tutor then asked me to add some ingame pictures to the paper. The problem is, I cannot get GWX running on my machine anymore. So I humbly ask someone to take a ingame screenshot of a German custom made ship where the camouflage and the authentic flag including the Swastika can be seen (I discuss the various aspects of enhanced realism in the chapter). I also need full permission from the user to use the picture, as the paper might be publicised at some point, which is the reason why I can't simply google the picture.

I hope that's not a big problem,

Yeah, rather than be inundated from users why not trawl through for what you want and then directly request permission to use it. It'd be easier, and better for you, I'd think. :yep:

I thought about that. But then I thought that I still need permission and then I didn't think any further (including that they actually might reply). So yeah, your idea is pretty good, I'll look though the screenshot thread and ask for permission directly.

Just look through the GWX Manual: plenty of in-game shots in there. I wrote the manual - just be sure to cite the source and both your tutor and I will be happy. Heck, just take the whole manual along with you - it's practically a PhD thesis in and of itself! :)

Alright, thanks. I'll look through the manual, again. ;)
Incidentally the GWX manual is one of the main objects of my modding research. I used it to prove that games and mods contain scientific elements to some degree, among other things. The manual is an impressive thing actually.
No worries, I quoted it correctly as befit for a master thesis, but I didn't use any pictures (yet).
