What do people feel is the best way to combine items from different mods - e.g. TDC old style controls (I like the dials and the zoom) with Reaper's UI boat (everything else is great). I can figure out how to find the files that conflict and check them with WinDiff, but it's not clear which sections need to be altered.
Is there a how to or guide that would help ? Thanks,
Welcome kkreische!
Though it is definitely possible to merge some mods, provided that you know wich parameters have to be tweaked (there's not a general rule), I am sorry to inform you that it is not possible to mix UI mods together.

You can definitely mix features of Dynamic environment and Real environment... if You know what parts of each mod You like.

that's true, but within very strict limits: Dynamic Environment adds several new climatic areas and weather types; if you mess too much with its ini files or with its climatezones.tga map, you will most probably be punished with the worst sanction: immediate CTDs. :dead:
Finetuning the mod in order to avoid such an evenience, costed to me and stoianm a lot of work, so if someone wants to tweak it, he should be ready to do the same and understand how this mod works. You cannot simply choose parts from other mods and merge them in it. :yep:
