Which UI do you prefer to use and why?

Im thinking of trying a few new alternative ones so I am curious... but I think hearing what you love / like about your UI would be good information for new players too.

Only POSITIVE reasons please :)

I use Darkwraiths. I haven't tried any of the others. I to scared to to be honest with you. One reason is my camping is going well at the moment. On my third patrol and have sunk 37 merchants so far for 181,000 tonnes. I'm cruising around waiting for the Southern Coastal Obj to open up. I've been very lucky in finding two big convoys very quickly! The Baltic and eastern have been completed. I play at a lowly 58% realism!!


I find DW's UI very user friendly for newbies. Simple to learn and use. I think when the Magui UI is finished I might try it out some point down the line.

So form what I've experienced with DW's I'd recommend it to all newbies.

I love TDW's NewUIs, not because the others don't do awesome stuff, but because TDW's, with a bit of reading the documentation included and making a lot of mistakes trying to figure out how the customization process works (but that's because I'm a moron who gets easily confused by lots of shiny buttons) can configure it to look like any previous installment in the Silent Hunter series or even some combination of them all.

And the default version, no additional tweaking involved, does everything that SH3 did and more.

I use TDW's UI (Modified SH5 style).

Dr Jone's CSP Magui Interface and reaper7's Ui-Boat are visually most impressive, but I don't think I could live without the automation scripts and teleporting that come with TDW's UI

Tdw's of course is well known and an excellent bit of work, I've always liked the options you have with it, and love the real navigation feature. I've recently started using Dr Jones CSP Magui, which is a wonderful piece of work being ported over to sh5 by Dr Jones, which is wonderfully presented both simple and precise, quick and very informative with some neat and useful features. There's plenty of choice for us all and sh5 has never looked better, thanks to some talented and keen modders out there.
