I know SH II is older than dirt, at this point, but in the few days I have owned it, I have enjoyed it immensely and want to make my own missions. I dug through the archives and found out about "Koralle", the mission editor. Naturally, all of the links are dead because the parent game is so old. Does anyone have a link or copy of this old program so I can turn myself loose on SH II?

I have had some issues with some mods here for download. Like the minefield mod, das boot periscope mod, and the chart station mod.

I don't know about those mods, I am trying to hunt down Koralle, first.

Now that I have the tools, I am now looking for guides to help make my missions. The manual in Koralle is not so much a manual as it is a tutorial for how to make the presupplied mission. I looked through the old forum archives, but it is like a needle in a haystack. Suggestions?

Koralle mission editor

In the Koralle folder should be a compressed 14.3 MB folder, Koralle.CAB that can be opened with WinRar etc. Inside that are a lot of files and folders including a Koralle.PDF with detailed instructions.

Kriegstanz scenario generator

For some reason I installed "Kriegstanz" & "KD" that also came with a nice PDF 'how to' for my scenarios. Maybe it was because I used Pacific Aces on top of SH II. I don't remember but KD always worked great for me.

Just throwing that out there as another choice:

"Kriegstanz" & "KD"
Kriegstanz is a random scenario generator for the Silent Hunter II and Destroyer Command naval warfare simulators. It creates missions that are largely unpredictable with a high degree of randomness. Players will find each generated mission to be vastly different from the previous one, more so than the limited randomness allowed in the one provided with the game.

Kriegstanz Developer (or KD for short) is a utility for creating, generating, editing and testing files used by Kriegstanz itself. These files are called "Theatre" files, and specify the date range and possible placements of various groups and units, as well as other factors such as weather. Almost all of the functionality of Kriegstanz is included in KD.

So, if you wanted to simulate Operation Drumbeat for example, you would be able create a Theatre for 1941 off the East Coast of the USA, and in it you’d place lone, unescorted merchants on coastal routes, the odd destroyer or two, and a U-boat.

I appreciate the help. I already stated that the Koralle manual was not as specific as I expected it to be. It is really a tutorial to clone the prepackaged mission. The big issue I am looking into is objective handling and trigger handling. I am also wanting to "mask" the identification of units so that a contact remains ambiguous even if "Limited Data" is turned off. There appears to be sufficient handling to do this, but the manual confirms nothing.

I already had Kriegstanz in mind for something else, but what I have planned is a re-creation of a historical event, which does require the specific scripting.

Some of these you need to scroll down to the SH II section or Koralle etc. Some dead links to pages could be plugged into the Internet Archive WayBack Machine:
( http://www.archive.org/ ) as a last resort - might work(?)...

Hope this helps.
