Hi mates,

Yet playing Sh3, mainly after all that hard fixes that made it a new and more challenge game.

But always interested on SH5. Mine is on the shelve.

I should like to see, if possible, an youtube movie about the actual mod state of Sh5. How it appears, how it behave, etc. Perhaps from these "new big mods" for sh5.

Any link?

Hmm... I think that there is no such thing that would show the current phase of the game. But it is a very good idea to make one. That way more gamers (and more modders hopefully) would join the fun.

The problem is that it would need to be a good one, like a new trailer to the SH 5-game (I don't wan't to hear techno music in silent hunter videos). And of course it's a big difference what mods you use.

Yes, agree and understood.
Perhaps one of the "big mods" could make a simple in game video (cuts are not necessary), perhaps one short video to each important new aspect, showing a bit the Graphical&FX, the interface, some interactions with crew, etc. Like you said this will be really usefull for the community.:up:

Actually, it's a whole series of YouTube videos that show a patrol in glorious HD on a reasonably modded version of SH5. It's quite good, shows the game dynamics and what it looks like modded and it's fun as well! :)

(If you want a full list of all of the videos with links, this thread is the place to go (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=180773). I recommend the second set of videos as they're newer (newer mods too) and the poster has had some time to figure out what the sim is all about. The original series is the place to go for laughs, though, and I say that as a compliment).

As others have mentioned, it's hard to point out any particular videos since there are so many different mod variations out there, but the ones I mentioned are pretty good at showing off the features of a base modded SH5.

Just be sure to run them in 1080 HD and remember, above all, that as pretty as they are, SH5 has gotten even better since they were recorded.

Well, after three days I'm already added to SH5 very nice visuals...:up:
I'm in test with some mods, I read a lot here on this forum and get some directions/ideas on good mods.

Using interior, crew, UI (TDW for now), IRAI...and it's looking good!
The environmental mods are always a problem as they frequently have something modded that you don't like or don't want too, then i finish with the stock env for now.

As almost all ppl here I'm trying now to find a good gameplay with SH5.

I noticed that the ships smokes are yet a bit too tiny, even absent in some ships (look at pedestal historical mission for example - the big war ships are almost without smoke). Any mod that have better ship smokes to share?

Well, I have a feeling that I will stick here for looong time!

well i am actually working on a big silent hunter movie project which i will upload in parts till now there are 3 parts finished but there are 2 more to come thought. But its more a movie not a gameplay but you can see the graphics mod in their beauty :)

@Pedrobas: thanks, already downloaded and running! Alas, I saw your MMM thread whith attention, even downloaded it. But i want for now tested and taste a lot of mods to found which mods fit me better.:up:

Another small detail that comes to my eyes quickly in this transition Sh3/Sh5 are the uboatīs water streams...well, apart the fact that i made the water stream mod for Sh3:DL, I really liked more as they appears /behave on Sh3 (mod). Do you know if we have any workaround on this or at least a more "intense" texture, etc?

The stock settings of the SH5 dynamic Shadows cast blurred shadows, therefore is necessary to tweak the shadows settings to get dynamic shadows with better resolution

Warning the Dynamic Shadows feature are a Frame Per Second (FPS) killer, Pintea (one of the UBI developers) told me that the "HighResolution=1536" setting has a max roof of 5000, I try to increase that number above 5000 and the FPS are reduced even more. Another way to increase the Dynamic Shadows resolution is to to reduce the FarPlane and ExtrudeCamera numbers but this unbalance the settings and the shadows disappear in some areas. At the moment I still dont understand fully the behaviour of each of the shadows settings
