How to find any ship in the campaign with realistic settings?

As in the title, yesterday I tried to play first campaign with "real navigation" and "no hydrophone on surface", and after two whole days of playing (real life), patrolling designated areas and using hydrophone every 2 hours I saw (visually) TWO SHIPS to this moment, and that ships I accidentally passed on the way to Britain. Is there some secret to successful patrolling or I'm just out of luck :) ? I was using patterns etc :/ . (I'm still patrolling British Eastern Coastal Waters - first mission, it's September 15)

what is your mod list ?
Go to the mod enabler and click on
tasks/export activated mod list to/text file and copy and paste .

get it at oh 2 thread near bottom of 1st post. its german but with english addons.
its very good with oh 2 as well.:yeah:

There wouldnt be much coastal traffic around yet . Its early days .

sobers best ever fog V4 SH5 is ok if you dont like too much fog . I have gone back to stock fog because it makes the game harder . You can download it in the download section .

I use a stabilised view in the game settings because unstabilised its just nor realistic .

I use these 2 mods to make the game harder .

You can turn it off anytime via the hud .
You can find this setting in
C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\MODS\NewUIs_TDC_x_x_x_ByTheDarkWraith\data\Scrip ts\Menu\TheDarkWraithUserOptions.py
Dont forget to uninstall the mod before adjusting the options file .

Travel mode is not for regular travelling .
