I'm new to using SHV although I've had it since it appeared on the mkt. Just now (after updating graphics card and PSU) getting to know it...better.
How does one pull up and study the recognition manual without actually having a target selected or having the weapon-man's assistance?
During a submerged attack procedure, I pop up the scope only long enough to determine nationality and type of ship.
Down scope!
Now is when I would like to pull up the recognition manual for full details. During the short "glance" at the target I've determined AOB , Br, and depending on situation, possibly started the stopwatch.
What am I doing wrong re recon manual?

Hi don1reed:salute:
If you use TDWs UI - you can view the SOAN (ships of all nations) manual.
This is done by clicking on the chart button (right side of screen).
See this post here where the soan in on view http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=1827127&postcount=1

The NewUIs_TDCs mod which Trevally is referring to is pretty much a standard requirement for SH5 now!

One or more of my mods and/or files must be corrupted, SOAN just doesn't show up when I press the chart button. All I get is FLAGS and two Speed charts. I'm using TDW's v690. And no ship's appear in Trevally's tutorials.
I'll do a new install of SHV and try it again.

Delete all the Pagex_Draggables.TDW files in your \Silent Hunter 5 folder to reset draggable positions

Hi Don
I'm saying this just in case you didn't notice, but you have to drag the SOAN from the left side of your hud just above the diving commands. You can only see so little of the SOAN.
Hey I think you're the dude who came up with the idea to remove the player uboat from the navmap in SH3 years ago? At least that's how I learned of the subject of real navigation. Playing real nav again in SH5
Cheers, Don :D

Tnx, TDW. I'll give that priority over a new install.
@Johnnyblaze. Hi JB, you bet. These Modders are the rivets that hold this ship together.
They keep on producing newer and better things to try...I never get a chance to complete an entire war. My JSGME file is gigantic :haha:

Don1reed,
I had what I think was the same problem, i.e. the speed and flag charts showing when pressing the Charts icon but no SOAN visable. TDW asked if I had changed my screen resolution since installing his most recent NewUIs MOD and my answer was yes. Here's a link to his post which resolved the problem for me;

Tnx for your help, Quink99:up:
TDW nailed the problem's solution. I just got finished removing the draggable.TDW files and viola`, problem solved. Now I'm headed back up to the turm to see what mischief 2WO is up to.
Cheers & tnx again all.

And no ship's appear in Trevally's tutorials.
There are two versions of Trevally Tutorials - one if you use OHI and one if you don't.
When you use the wrong one - there are two ship that will not appear:up:
