Hello everyone

I have been tweaking My my Mod soup and It seems that Iam finally getting things the way I want them . However some advice about adding Mods , ( Not the expert , But learning from trial and error), LOOK AT THE DATES OF THE MODS ,, SOME OF THE MODS WERE MADE IN 2010 , That almost two years ago ! .. , For example ,I Thought that Magnus Opus was about scopes ,Wrong ! I have been learning alot from stoniam's Tutorials ,, One of his tutorials is about how to install Magnus Opus .. , In my thinking its all about scopes ,, well that mod has a lot of content ,, it will change the interior of the SUB , also make the sub outside color become blue and , It will not change the scope aspect ratio unless you add a patch to TDW'sUI .. So , It will give you a test mission etc , But the most important thing to do is READ !! About the mods , Some of the Mods in The soup list were addditions to a previous mod .. , ( IAM SO GLAD FOR THE CREATIVE GUYS OUT THERE THAT MAKE IT THIS SIM VERY REALISTIC ) , Cant complain ,

ADVISE about adding mods .. READ ANd before Installing Look at the folders that contain the mods and see how they are rooted, sub-rooted, also there is a sequence to add mods ,, I used a Sobers list as a guide , but I also made the soup menu to look like my soup menu .. I thinks its important however you add MODS , to add these in this strict order or else you will get some problems as I have found out !!

I Think these are what I consider the MEGA MODS .. Still Iam tweaking My MOd Soup List ..

I PLAY IL2 1946 recently that old game was modded so that there were more accurate features in the game ,, however the size of that whole modded game turns out to be about 3 gigs of information . so when it first came out , there were alot of CTDS nad alot of headaches , however somone manged to change setting when the game starts so that the page file will use more space and allocate more memory to the game ,, The only reason . I think that there are CTDS IN SH5 is ,...

Somone should figure out to untie the UB Launcher from starting the game . that UB launcer hoGS 2,131 of ram space when running along side of the game , while the game only runs at half of that space @ 1,133 , , If that launcher was absent I think that could help the Modded game ,

WINDOWS ALLOCATES SPACE TO PROGRAMS -- The os limits what progarms are running and determines what the priorty for running programs .. IN THE CASE of IL2 1946 Modded . there was a bulit in program that you change the priorty of the game using ram space ,, so basically there was no issues of CTDS after this modded exe was installed in the modded IL2 1946 , Perhaps Someone can figure thsi out and do the same for Sh5 .. Every one

Everyone in my opinon esp when you are a new simmer wants to get the accurate MOD SOUP .. I dont think that it is the MODS SOUP cauing CTDS ist your OS and how it runs , The reason that I say this is because LOOK At IL2 1946 its about 3g modded and ist over ten years old .. But a cool creative guy out there found a way to manage windows so it sets a priororty to run IL2 1946 Modded .. Same Can happen here as well

So with this post , any of you cool creative cool guys can find a way to get rid of the UBI launcher and standalone launch sh5 on its own ? and than be able to use a slideer that tells windows to allocate higher priority to run the game ,, I am not a programmer but there are guys out there that love this sim as well As I do !

Hi Kimuraijn!
Some notes re IL2 (just because You've pointed these theme)
During this great game development in the course of 10 years there were about 40 official patches (not mods) that improved it first of all. Official means that the authors didn't threw the product away after release but worked in contact with gamers, specialists and etc. to make it perfect. I've patched to v.4.10.1 IL1946 and without any mods (but with couple of additional campaigns+skins) its "weight" is more 11 Gb on my harddisk.
Mods (such as replacing one player-operating unit with another) didn't play the key part in its improvement excceeding cases when the results of modding were merged into official patches. That means every bug was fixed by the programmers (the authors), and there was no much need for modders to 'investigate' game engine personally:yep:.
As for SH5 and its official support - no need to repeat things that were posted on SUBSIM dozens of times:nope:. I think patch 1.2 should be the last one :damn:

Sorry for off-topic

I know that it is an off topic ,, But since there is so much talent around is it possible to make SH5 more stable while modded ? I still think that windows allocates a certain amount of RAm when the game is running . I suppose when you mod the game that ecceeds that amout that windows will give to the application , I will suppose that is coded into into the sh5 exe file .??? Thats is a uneducated guess .. There are some experst on thsi forum that can possbly answer that .. I would advocate using something simular like what IL2 did , As I said before ,, alot of ctd , until this litte tool came out and all of the ctd went away , and yes 11+ gigs or more on the HD ,, not 3 gigs , Take a look at thsi pic .. If we could control the amount of ram that windows allocates sh5 , Iam sure that ctds will not be an issue !!
