Hydrophone fix?

Hi. I read somewhere that the hydrophone needs a fix (editing the SH5.exe file with an hexadecimal editor). Im using the NewsUIs that contain an Hex editor. What should i modify inside this file? What kind of improvement/fix do i obtain doing that?
