D-Day Landings

After much of Europe had been occupied by the Axis powers for four years, the Allies finally launched their campaign to liberate Western Europe, codenamed Operation Overlord, on 6 June 1944. Over three million service personnel were involved and it all hinged on the success of the Normandy Landings on D-Day.

Your mission is to sneak past the heavily mined Dover Strait (red arrows) and into the channel. Stay hidden untill the invasion force sets off at first light - then attack.

Requires OHII to play

Issues:-
The mission will start at 8pm 5/6/44, but game may show time as 00:00 1/1/40
Invasion will start at 6:30 6/6/44, but game time may be 10:30 2/1/40:doh:

This is first version and may be updated with your suggestions.

Just to clarify, is it possible to make the Normandy invasion part of your mod OHII? As in, make it a historical event that triggers on that date so we could witness it in the campaign?

Yes - it is in OHII within the campaign turningPoint :yep:
It is in the stock campaign too - but not setup to run (game ends 43)
I have just made it a SM and re-worked it.


Testing this SM has let me find some things that could be done better in the OHII version - so I may put this version in OHII instead.

So any suggestions would be good:up:
