View Full Version : Question: star shell shine effect on fires?
Hi everyone,
just an idea that came to my mind a few days ago: the red flare in GWX and the star shell illuminate their vicinity, so I ask myself wether its possible to add that effect to a large fire, maybe in a down scaled intensity and orange color.

There is no red flare in GWX mate

...that's not what he is asking.
Sounds like a good idea to me, no idea if it is possible.

Hm, then I must be seeing things each time a ship is sunk. ;) but however, the flare is an effect object just like the fires, with attributes that need to be in some file.
I'll take a look.....

Well there isn't a red flare in GWX.
It can be found in Racerboy's SH4 effects (and more) for GWX MOD V7.1
On the other hand , your original idea is very good.

InsertLight controller. I never could get the color of the light to change from white though...

Thats where it is from, I use that one with GWX, never knew which of both inserted those flares. ;)
But thanks, I noticed that even in SH5, no one got an idea about dynamic shine on fires.

Hm, thats a pity.

There are other ways to effect the shine.
They just happen to be frame rate droppers not worth the effect for the most part.
You are always damned if you do and damned if you don't.
