View Full Version : Changing enemy AI tactics/behavior?

Now that I have somewhat figured out sensors, gun ranges (and other things), I'm wondering how the AI works.

I'm trying to put together some decent surface based missions, if only just for myself. I've gotten enemy capital ships to fire and engage at a more reasonable range to get some decent BB vs. BB combat going on. The next issue is the behavior of the enemy ships. It seems to kind of be random, with them zigzagging sometimes, or just charging ahead, but rarely do they turn and try to square up a full broadside, unless thats the direction they were already headed.

What is the Battleship/Cruiser AI default behavior when they encounter you (their enemy)? Do they go into a set pattern, or will they generally stick to their waypoints and fire from there? Is there any way to change the behavior?

Also, can anything be done to not have Destroyers charge at you like you are a sub? I'm assuming there isn't.
