Hi lesec74:salute:
I am not 100% sure, but I think you can do this here:-
C:\Users\Owner\Documents\SH5\data\Users\***your name**\ActiveUserPlayerUnits.UPC
you can edit with notepad
There are 4 areas to change here. Look for:-
[UserPlayerUnit 1]
ID=VIIC
NameDisplayable=Type VIIC U-boat
UnitName=U-88
UpgradeClass=2
Type=VIIC
UnitInterval=1940-07-30 00:00:00, 1945-12-31 00:00:00
ExternalClassName=SSTypeVIIC
Nationality=German
Evolution=Normal
Damage=0.000000
CO2Level=0.000000
TextureName=NULL
LightmapTextureName=NULL
NormalmapTextureName=NULL
MenuSilhouetteTextureName=Typ_9_1.tga
MaxOfficers=6
MaxPettyOfficers=32
IsUnderwater=false
StartUserPlayerUnitMissionDateTime=1941-12-12 11:00:00
CurrentUserPlayerUnitMissionDateTime=1941-12-12 11:00:00
SilentState=false
There are three more like this "[UserPlayerUnit 1]" with 2, 3, 4 - one for each type u-boat.
Change the UnitName=U-88 to the number you want. do this with all four boats.
Please let us know how you get on:up:

I think I need to find a way to have the OptionsFileEditorViewer automatically update the campaign files with the player's uboat number when they change the player uboat number in the app :hmmm:

Check out TDWs new options editor. Sounds like this will now do it for you.
I have been looking more at the Doc files and the u-boat number is recorded all over the place (just like campaign info).
In C:\Users\Owner\Documents\SH5\data\cfg\SaveGames you will find your save games by date. Look in your last save folder and there are these
CareerTrack
ActiveUserPlayerUnits
CareerTrack has this
UserPlayerInstanceDisplayableName=U-269
:hmmm:
Edit: Did that post take me 30mins to write :D

Didn't see that one...:shifty: Now I have to update app again :up:
EDIT:
I'm pretty sure that the career track uboat numbers are pulled from the upc data. Don't see a need to update those so no need to update app. This could possibly mean that when you get a new uboat you could change the hull number for it (so you would have a record of uboat hull numbers in your career)
