I really haven't been giving it much thought until I went to System Requirements Lab. According to that site my computer meets everything except the CPU. I have an Athlon 3500+ processor (2.2 GHz). The game requires a dual core 2 GHz processor. I have 2GB RAM, nVidia 8600GT video card, and XP with SP3. I can run Oblivion on the best settings right now. If I could run Skyrim on low, or maybe even medium, settings I would be happy. I know my computer is old and I need to build a new one, but the $$$ is not there right now. I'm also thinking that if the Xbox 360 and PS3 had Oblivion and are running Skyrim my computer *might* possibly run it, too (I know completely different beasts, but still. :88)).

I also read a comment that Oblivion modded out looks better than Skyrim. If that is the case that kind of gives me a little more hope.

I just got an used Athlon 64 3800+ Dual Core (2 GHz) CPU (Socket 939) for 25 EURO through the Ebay and it runs really nice. Maybe a possible upgrade for your machine?:hmmm:

For comparisation's sake, I'm running Skyrim on the High preset with some minor stuttering on this rig:

- AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (Dual Core) 3.0GHz
- HD5770 1GB
- 4GB DDR2 RAM

I get around 30fps most of the time.

Running Skyrim on Medium with 1 or 2 on high. Runs fine.
I will point out I was running skyrim with steam for about 3days then I added a fix and no longer have the odd stutter or any CTD. Thanks to the crackers

Xeon dual core 5130 @2ghz
4gig ram
Win 7 64bit
9800GT 512 ram
Skyrim updated to latest patch.

Running Skyrim on 2gigs of ram might be a problem, might work on low settings

You should be okay, I run Skyrim on a PC with very similar specs.
