did you get it from steam? have you checked the file cache integrity under DW properties?

try reinstallation maybe? it is a vanilla 1.4 copy yes?

Thanks for the reply. I purchased from strategy first and downloaded from www.plimus.com. I have reinstalled a number of times, and Downloaded the file twice. I will check the integrity. I have logged a call with strategy first.com but have not heard from them yet, after two days of trying a number of options.

I don't think I can check the file cache if I haven't downloaded from steam?

hmm... im not sure what could be causing the problem. never heard of www.plimus.com (http://www.plimus.com/) before, or the error you are experiencing.

i went with steam because alot of people use it, so i knew if there was a problem, there would at least be some kind of support for it.?

i tried googling DW/English text library file failed to load/and plimus.com, not really seeing anything that will help, unfortunately.

are you able to contact plimus.com directly for support, or do they have a faq for DW, or a forum for tech support?

you may also try sonalysts.com and contacting them as to what may/may not be causing your problems.

its either got to be a bad download, a bad install, a patching error, or a hardware/software problem.?

i assume you have all drivers up to date and your pc meets minimum system requirements?

hopefully you find an answer somewhere.

Hi I found the answer. The desktop shortcut was calling the dangerous waters exe file. But I found a launcher exe in the home director which when I use it, runs the program , and the error does not appear. Not sure why the installed shortcut is pointing at the wrong file but it's all good now. Thanks for your replies...

Thank You Pilotagm and Google for this solution. I run to same problem when setup separate installations with different mods for MP games (hopefully i'll get a chance to try this) and got same error on all installations.

I'm sure it has something with annoying Vista and WN7 UAC feature, as always it brings trouble when try use mods or old games, cause I was only able play game with different installation, when was using Launch.exe, otherways DW.exe runs last game version which was launched.

Anyways, thanks for this solution.
